Friday the 13th movie question. Most of the time, the teenagers in the original movies do stupid things or have poor judgement that often lead to their demise. I’m curious how many people, when they were teenagers, would have acted similarly if they lived in the movie’s universe? Do you think your parents would have let you go on a haunted camping trip in the first place? Do you think you would be the lone survivor or do think your friends would be smart enough to find a way to win at the end too? This thread is meant to be fun and I hope for some great responses. 🙂 :confused3

I'm ADHD and always think of the most obscure ways to do things instead of the obvious and most times can't think of anything at all or until way after a situation, so I'd be dead.
My mother would have let me do whatever I wanted in those days and I did.
So yeah, I'd be dead. My mother would not have been able to outsmart the villain either.

Ok, follow up question. Do you think your parents would be able to outsmart the villain in the films?
My dad was an explosives expert in the Army Corp of Engineers. One day, as I was sitting at the table quietly eating dinner, my dad said to me, "Do you know I could rig it so you couldn't lift your fork without blowing yourself up?" As I as doing nothing but eating my dinner, I asked my dad why he said that. He said, "Just something to keep in mind." LOL

So your dad would have ensured we would not get a sequel then? 🤣

I've always said in a horror movie I'd either be first to die or Final Girl, there is no in between! I'm a huge horror movie fan so I definitely think I'd know what "mistakes" to avoid in a Friday the 13th-type movie.

On the other hand I've been watching the Escape Room movies and puzzles are not in my skill set. If I woke up trapped in one of those tomorrow I'd pretty much sit down and accept my fate!

Be proactive and don't go! The kids need to listen to the crazy old guy who warned everyone about Crystal Lake- but then he got killed in the 2nd or 3rd film.
That's basically it, don't go to Crystal Lake.

If you do, don't stand near windows, because Jason always comes crashing through the window. Doors, cots, dressers... Jason's on the other side and will stab through that obstacle to get you, and you will get got! He is resourceful, he knows what he's doing, so you don't need to be there!

(Note: Actually it was Jason's mom was the killer in the first Friday, because she blamed counselors for the drowning of her son, as they were too busy engaging in the activities that all Jason-victims engage in. Then she gets killed, and Jason becomes the killer in Part 2, to avenge the death of his mom. Everyone stop a moment! Ms. Voorhees, your son was alive out in the woods the whole time, you killed a bunch of kids for nothing!)

Could you imagine if most of the teenagers survived the original films, got married to each other, and had their own kids? I could almost see all of them becoming helicopter parents and their kids sneaking out to Crystal Lake trying to prove to their parents that Jason doesn’t exist, only for them to be wrong and yelling “we should always listen to our parents!”. That would be the meme of the year.

Never watched the movie but my son was born was on Friday the 13th and my brother, my son's namesake, was at that movie's debut. :)
The first three are good. The rest are meh to be honest. I hate how classics that don’t truly need a reboot are usually the first to get a reboot. But I guess if teenagers will always be known for their poor decisions, Hollywood will always show new ways they exemplify that stereotype. :confused3

I would agree with the first two, but I thought the third was abysmal. Of course a couple of my most favorite stupid horror deaths, are in these movies. One in Jason X and I think the other was in 7.
