Fresh Out of University and Onwards to Disney!!!An August PTR!!!(Last Update 8/26)

Chapter 21. I dreamed a dream

So, I'm sure we ALL have some WDW related dream at some point in our planning (or reminiscing) of a trip. What's the most recent one you can think of?

]

Thats soo funny!
I have dreams like that all the time, and, like you, they're often more nightmares, (being at the airport and missing the ONLY plane to orlando for months, finding out we never actually booked our hotel; you name it, I've dreamed of it!:lmao:). Luckily, i'm not the one who ever actually books stuff (i'm a little young too obviously :rotfl:) so if something like that ever really happens (not that it ever will) it never falls on my shoulders!!!

The one thing i hate about the good dreams though is waking up and realizing i still have 65(which isnt too much!) days left!!!

Oh and I also share the love of postcards!! :love:Those and travel brochures. I collect them!!!

Yaaah, the good dreams are kind of a let down. But always feels good to wake up to. I wake up with a smile :)

I like postcards cause I like sending things. I still have 3 postcards left. If you'd like one, let me know in a pm.

Chapter 24. This one's for the ladies

Men, I suggest you skip this chapter. It's not some big secret we girls keep, it's just a little girl-talk.

I'll wait.

...

...

Ok, hopefully any guys that read my PTR are gone.

Alright ladies, I've got a question for you. It's about the dreaded "gift" we get once a month. For some of us it's not so dreaded, but for those of us that get those deadly cramps (like me), it's enough to want to kill ourselves. Come on, admit it.

Sooooo, has anyone of you ever gotten your "flow" in the middle of your trip? Whether you saw it coming or not, what did you do?

Now, I'm the type that charts my flow, so I know the day it arrives and how long it usually stays for. A couple of months ago, I started charting it way ahead, to see if it would happen during my trip. Thankfully, it looks like my trip comes about a week after it ends. Which is a great time for me.

BUT. From now until then, inconsitencies MAY come up and ruin all that for me, so I just want to be prepared for it.

One thing I've learned, is that I never know just how much "products" I'll be needing. The longest I've gone is about a weekend when I visit Andrew, so I only pack about 2-3 days worth. But for the whole duration?

If it looks like I'll be getting that monthly visit during my trip, I don't want to over or under pack, for various reasons.

Do the Disney stores carry them? Would I have to go off-property? Can I order from garden grocers? If yes, how soon can they deliver?

Another question is about the pills I take to deal with the pain. Do the gift shops carry big brands like Advil? Or maybe even just non-brand ibuprofen?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I am an over packer in that regards! But I also use cloth now sooooo for me I'd just be worried about the laundry.

They do sell extras in the bathrooms at the parks and I have seen some when I was at the gift shop in the Value. So if they have them there I'm sure they'll have them where you staying at.

I have seen pain killers in the gift shops for sure but not the ones that have more than 30 pills in them. In the parks the usually only sell the single use packs though. And if the shop in the park doesn't have it they will surely help you find what you are looking for. DH got an upset stomach once in at DL and a CM went completely out of their way to find it and retrieve the meds for us. When of course they didn't have to they could have told us where it was at and sent us on our way.

Ohhh, that's really nice of them. It's good to know they have provisions in the stores. The last thing I need is for something like this to spoil my trip.

Chapter 25. Another closure?

Just received this month's MouseSavers newsletter.

One Man's Dream will be closed from Aug 16 till November.

It looks like my day at DHS will be PRETTY short. No TSM, no One Man's Dream.

After I ride ToT and RnRc, looks like I can just take it pretty chill. I might even check out Muppet 3D, even though I have absolutely no interest in it.

It's not that I don't like it or anything, I've just never been a fan and am just not interested in seeing it. But if I'm going to have all this time....I might as well give it a try?

At this rate, I'm thinking of planning something else to do after DHS. Spend more time at DTD? Watch another round of Fantasmic? Pay for a ticket to get into Disney Quest? Or maybe just lounge by the pool and take it easy while we pack everything and just chill in the room.

on my extra solo day at DHS, I did a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't do and ended up having a great day. American Idol wasn't that bad. In fact, I went to see it 2x....

Oh and I almost made the mistake of reading your last post...:scared1:

Okay, Yuki - here's what I do: A few months ahead of time (I really need to do it now), I count it out on a calendar to see if ....it... will fall during our vacation. If so, I simply skip it one month by not taking the placebo pills in the pillpak. Its pretty easy to rearrange your .... schedule.. if you take the pill. Otherwise, I'd be pretty bummed if it happened on vacation. What a hassle!

Am slowly reading through your PTR, but have to tell you that you and your boyfriend are adorable! :goodvibes

Good thing you didn't read that post for the girls! Maybe I should make as bigger warning?

AIE! I hadn't even thought of that! Initially, that wasn't in my plans, but I may just add it to my itinerary. I'm so tempted to try out for it...I wonder if I should....

Well, my uh.....monthly visit is very regular. So I'm able to plan it out if I want. I'm not on the pill. So far, it looks good....so I'm crossing my fingers nothing too irregular will happen these two months. I swear, they really need a crossing fingers smiley!

Hey Tina! :welcome: to my PTR! And thank you so much! It's great to have you join us.

So.....something else will be down for refurb....Again, wrapped around the week I'll be there

Liberty Riverboats. Closed from Aug.16-25th. I swear.....the Disney gods must not be pleased with those dates....3 attractions down! Well, 4 counting Honey I Shrunk the Audience, but at least that one closes way before I arrive.

:sad2:

I was REALLY looking forward to that one. I love boat rides and I wanted to hear the PA spiel.

Major poopers.

I'd deffinetly recomend it! Stay and watch a few of the shows too, you may be pleasently suprised! The GMR is also one of my favorites! You can't knock it till you've tried it right? :rotfl:

59 days!!! Not long!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Hi Yuki! Just read through your whole PTR and its wonderful! Sounds like you have some wonderful plans! Sorry about the TSM closure, it was absolutely my favorite ride when we went last May. So this year, I am hoping things go well and it reopens in time for our trip in Sept. Definitely try Muppets 3D. Even though it's just a 3D movie, it's a nice way to get out of the heat for a while!

Well, I was planning on going to everything but AIE and Muppets. But now....I'm short 2 attractions so......might as well check those out?

I can't believe I didn't even know about GMR on my last trip. Went right over my head! I'm really looking forward to those

Hey ChunkyMonkey! (which is what I'll call you until I learn your real name) Thanks for coming by!

And ya, I'm so sad about TSM! SOOO SAAAAAD! Especially since I just watched Toy Story 3 tonight. It was awesome btw.

Ya with the muppets.....I don't even know who everyone is. Other than kermit and Ms.Piggy (LOVE her). So I'm not sure if I would be able to enjoy it as much? Do you think?

Hi Yuki, my realy name is Su-Lynn or Su. But I gathered you figured that out anyways! I sooo want to see TS3. I am hoping to see it today at some point.

I am not a huge muppets fan either! I know the main characters as you mentioned, I don't follow it that much, but the Muppets 3D was fun regardless. Hope you do decide to watch it! If not, you can take a nap!

Yes Su, I did find that out on my own. Hm...well, if you recommend the show, I'll have to give it a try. I've got lots of time anyways.

BTW, I used to play VMK too. LOVED it. But miss it terribly.
