Fresh Out of University and Onwards to Disney!!!An August PTR!!!(Last Update 8/26)

Oh, and another thing - I just realized, if I haven't said this already, we're going to be in the World at the same time! I'm going with my family from August 18th to the 29th, before I check in for the College Program.

Maybe we'll run into each other! :rotfl: (I know boyfriends, or at least mine, hates when I try to meet up with people, so we won't plan anything, but if we pass each other, we at least have to say hi!)

Hey! That's awesome! Awww, I would try to meet up....but ya, boyfriends aren't big on that. Maybe we can at least find out which park we will be at which day? Where will you guys be staying?

Hey, this is my 100th post!:cheer2:

I was at my local Asian supermarket today and I saw this candy on display.

SSPX0138.jpg

It's a photo of a Japanese milk candy, with 3 different flavours being advertised.

The funny thing about it is that under each Japanese description of the flavour, they have the english translation of the flavour, but they goofed on one.

The left one says "Coffee & milk" under the Japanese characters. The right one says "Yogurt drink". The middle one says "Ichigo & milk". "Ichigo" means strawberry in Japanese. So instead of writing "strawberry & milk", they just romanized the Japanese word.

Haha, I though it was funny. :rotfl: I thought that some of you might appreciate it :thumbsup2

What's funny is that I didn't even notice, I just automatically translated it in my head! Haha. That's when you know you need to stop reading manga and get back to school work...

If I can find the picture, I have a really funny one from the department store in Epcot Japan...

That's such a funny picture!

Yah, I was reading it in Jap too, but noticed the english under it. Isn't it hilarious? :rotfl:

Haha the Japanese language sometimes confuses me. Like how much sometimes Ichigo is in Hiragana but sometimes it's in Katakana....Or Why use Milk in English when there is already a Japanese work for Milk? Nanka muzukashi tte omou.

Omoshiroi daketo...muzukashi.

I'm sad I'm losing my Japanese!

Yeah like when I lived over there I just used to wonder why the heck they use home...Why not just say Uchi? Or why is Sushi in English? Sushi is Sushi haha in Japanese. We used to have this place called Pink Sushi where I lived and the sign was Pink and it had Kanji in the beginning and then SUSHI. So it got labled Pink Sushi by us. So funny! I miss Japan however, don't get me wrong. If someone said here is a place ticket to go back there. I'd be like when can I leave?!?!:hippie:

I love the Japanese milk candy and would completely eat up the box of "milky" or whatever it was called (with the hard balls of milk product all rolled up". Yum, yum...But maybe the Japanese skipped writing strawberry because they can't pronounce it. If they tried, it would sound like "staw belly" since they have a hard time rolling their "r"s. On a separate note, my relatives from Japan and us used to exchange gifts at Christmas. The funniest gift I got was a neon yellow shirt with a really small UCLA logo with the address of the student union (not really the official address of the school but more like a mailing address). It stood out to me because I was attending UCLA at the time....and UCLA has a big following in Japan.

Found it!

"Lip Gross"? How gross is that? Oh, but they meant gloss....there goes those "r"s and "l"s being switched in the Japanese minds again.

My favourite number is 3!!!

Sooo....just want to make a note of today being 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days until my trip! :cool1::cheer2::yay:

UCLA in Japan, huh? I had no idea~! There's another Japanese milk candy that I love. It's a soft chewy candy that comes in cubes. SOO GOOOD :worship:

Ohhh, gloss! Now I get it...I can't believe I didn't think of that.....haha, lip gross....

Yeah, haha! Sorry.

What was funny was that some packages said Gloss, and were just fine, and then three said "Gross."

So of course, we bought one of the "gross" ones. :)

i cant figure out how to delete this just ignore it sorry haha

Chapter 10. Four different airlines, one destination

On my last 3 flights to the States, I've flown WestJet. One of those flights was for my very first trip to WDW :cool1:

Having flown about 6 trips with them, I've fallen in love. I have enjoyed every single one of them. The flight attendants are so friendly, funny and accommodating and it's just a great experience flying with them.

Unfortunately for this trip, I won't be flying with them :sad1: The main reason being, they're too expensive.

Now, the only flights I've ever taken that had connecting flights were to Asia. But lo and behold, connecting flight from Toronto to Orlando are also the cheapest flights!

So, for this trip, I'll be trying out 4 airlines I've never flown before. All for the one destination of WDW.

August 17, ARRIVAL :cool1::
8:30am flight out of Toronto on American Airlines (with a $15 baggage fee???)
Connecting in Chicago at 10:55am on United
Arriving in MCO at 2:28pm

August 24, DEPARTURE :sad1::
2:30pm flight out of MCO on Delta (another $15???)
Arrive in JFK, transferring to EWR
Connecting flight at 8:30pm on Continental
Arriving in Toronto at 10:33pm

The part I'm still a bit confused about is the transfer between JFK and EWR. I know those two airports are really close together, but will there be some sort of a shuttle that takes us there? Or will we have to cab it?

Also, I just re-watched "The Terminal" with Tom Hanks and CAN'T WAIT to see JFK

EDIT: I forgot to say that I booked my flights before I found out that:
a) Flying from Buffalo is A LOT CHEAPER
b) Buffalo is only a short 2 hour drive away from where I live :sad2:

Which means, for my flights down to WDW or the States in the future, I'll be flying from Buffalo. Which opens me to great airlines like SouthWest and JetBlue! :cool1:

Most US airlines charge baggage fees anymore. I think we paid $25 a bag (each way) when we went to WDW in 2008 on Frontier Airlines.

Also, Spirit Air (I think that's right) is going to start chaging for CARRY ON bags. >_< I can see them losing fliers quickly.

Anywho! Next time we fly to MCO, we'll be taking Southwest...no baggage fees at all!

I've never had to connect through EWK but from what I understand AirTran has a free metro service or it's as little as $5. But you could pay for the other services if you want. But I'm cheap so I would go with the AirTran service.
