For those of you who go often meaining like yearly....do you go the same time every year? Do you not? and why?

i.e. you only go in Dec because you love the holiday season a decorations or you go in Dec for xmas and in _____ cuz????

Just trying to guage other folks thought process on when and how often they go? $$ is not to big an issue cuz we are DVC members.

We used to go for Thanksgiving every year but then the weather just started getting a little chilly for us. Plus getting time off school became more difficult. We have now gone for x-mas but the weather once again was bad.

This year we are going to try spring break but I am sure it will be really busy.

We try to go during Star Wars weekends at MGM because DS is a huge Star Wars fan. The "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game during Star Wars weekends is my favorite part. Now that my son is older, though, we'll probably choose other times of the year to go. We did go for New Years Eve 2000 and really enjoyed the Christmas lights, but it was downright cold that year, so I think we'll go in spring, summer or falls in the future.

I'm an annual pass person; I like to go for certain events, like the Food and Wine Festival, or the Flower and Garden show, I love these events. Then, again, I just go because I can! If I find that great rate at a resort, and it happens to coincide with a great airfare, I'm outta here! I've planned a trip to Disney after arriving at work one day with no intention of going anywhere. A co-worker told me that Southwest was running a special of $39 each way from Manchester, NH to Orlando...I had it booked, booked a Disney resort on an AP discount, and I was set to go in two weeks! Now, that's spontaneous. :goodvibes
I like late summer for the values, and the parks open very, very late. I also like less crowded times. Then again, sometimes I just need a Disney fix.

I go at least once or twice a week. of course i work there so i get that joy.

we definitely always go in May and Oct for the Flower and Garden show, the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP and also Dec for the xmas party. Hey if I could afford it we'd be there every weekend!

Well since i live like 10 min away I go as often as possible. if i am in town then probably there a couple times a week if not all weekend. I may go just for a few hours or just for lunch/dinner.

But I esp make sure i go for events like Food/Wine, Flower/Garden, MNSSHP/MVMCP, Osbourne lights, annual passholders events etc.....

Oh let me take back some of what i jsut said. I tend not to visit much in June, July and August. Too hot, too crowded. If I do go it's more likely in the evenings only if then.

I feel so spoiled being able to go whenever i want, even if just few hours. Or like I am sitting at home, getting off work, and think boy I can't sit in this house, gotta do something. So jump in the car and head on over.

Guess I really didn't answer your question as specific as maybe hoped for.

I have always gone to the parks in OCT because I'm a big fan of Halloween Horror Nights over at Uni, so I make one night for HHN and the following day for a Disney park..we also tend to go every 1 1/2 to 2 months not counting summer (we go before school lets out down here and after it goes back in session..NEVER EVER EVER while they are on vacation!) Also we usually go in April for my moms birthday and if im luck in sept for mine :)

**Edited to take the "s" off of the word "mine", my High School English teacher would have killed me if she saw that! **

I love the fact the villians have taken over on marvel island and all the heroes are dead on halloween.

Thanks for living my dream for me. Instead, I will continue to blow my kid's college and our retirement savings on a couple or more trips a year. :thumbsup2

I've been going for a lot of years in Oct. and May.

Oct. because MNSSHP is our favorite thing plus Epcot's F&W Fest is going on then too.A can't be missed for us!

For several years we went the first week of May.The weather was great and the crowds not too bad.Once my son started school we changed to the end of May.He's a big Sar Wars fan so we try and make it there for one of those weekends now.We also love the Flower and Garden Show at Epcot that goes on then.

This year we did a quick trip a few days before Christmas. That's a wonderful time to visit too!

We go often in the winter during Jan or Feb. We like to escape the winter cold and replace it with a week of sunshine and Disney fun!!!!! We have also gone in Oct. & Nov. and are trying for the first time a summer month - July!

We go every October for 2 weeks so we can enjoy the MNSSHP. We were also going every May for 2 weeks but have now switched that to June due to DD being in school now. So every October and June~!

always go in July/August because thats when my children have there school holidays quite excited this year as am also going for a week in december so that will be very different for us :cheer2:

Time off school makes the difference for us, but our trips have been in July (hopefully never again!), February, and April so far. DDs school has both Feb and Apr breaks, so future trips will probably be on whichever works for us time-wise and financially.

My DH and I have been AP and PAP holders for a few years now and have gone a bunch! Here is the breakdown of when we've gone:

1). MLK weekend in January-This was a GREAT time to go!!! One of the slowest times I've ever been. The weather was definitely cool-we wore sweatshirts and jeans some nights so no swimming that trip. Cons include the early closing times of the parks and the rehab of many popular rides.

2). Late April/early May-DH and I *love* the Flower and Garden Festival, and this time of year is perfect for gorgeous weather and "lower" crowds (depending on when Easter and Spring break are, of course) mixed with all those beautiful topiaries and flower arrangements. Went at one time with my mom over Mother's Day weekend which is still a favorite trip-free photos around Epcot for Mother's Day and special Mother's Day menus. The weather then was SUPER humid-even the CMs were telling us that it was more like August weather! (Bring on the misty fan!)

3). Late July/early August-Since DH is a high school teacher, he has had problems getting time off during the school year for anything longer than an extended weekend plus it was more stressful for him to depend on a sub and leave "his" kids. So...we decided to try a summer vacation in 2004. It was definitely different than our other trips as we drove to Florida and stayed about 10 days. We ended up really liking this time of year, but we also stopped being "commando"-it made all the difference! Since we drove, we were able to bring lots of food and even went off-site for the first time for some meals! Since we cut costs with meals, had APs, and stayed in a Value at an AP rate, we actually spent about the same as we would have during the year for a long weekend! Our game plan was this: get up early for early entry (at that time) and stay until lunch time. Then it was back to the room for lunch or lunch at a resort before we headed back to the room for a break (nap, shower, swim, etc.) Some afternoons we would head to Disneyquest for some air-conditioned arcade fun. Then it was back to the parks for fireworks/parades-really were spoiled by those late park hours!! We would switch it up some days by getting up early to be at the water parks when they opened, bring our lunch, and get a great spot near the shark reef...ahhh...very relaxing. We repeated this plan of action in the summer of 2005-drove to Florida, stayed five days on-site and rented points at OKW (studio), and then stayed 7 days off-site (GASP) at a one-bedroom condo with full kitchen/washer/dryer (for $250 total). Since there is almost ALWAYS a torrential downpour between 1pm-4pm every day, we found that taking a break was not only necessary (due to the heat) but logical. The way we visit WDW in the summer makes for a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

4). Late October/Early November-This is a super time to go as you have both the Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Festival!! We've done this time with both sides of our families, and so it brings back wonderful memories from those trips. Such a cool thing to be able to dress up and trick-or-treat at the Magic Kingdom on Halloween night! And could there be anything more delicious than sampling food and wines from around the world!? Plus I loved the cooking demonstrations available. The weather is spectacular! You have to take the crowds into consideration as it has gained in popularity immensely even since we last went in 2004.

5). Early December-DH and I were able to get a "sneak peek" at all WDW has to offer for the holidays in early 2004 after I went on a DCL cruise with my side of the family (DH couldn't get off work to go!) Such a magical time of the year-so much is going on-Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Osbourne Lights (we didn't get to enjoy these), Candlelight Processional, Holidays Around the World, Christmas decorations...WHEW!! Two full days was all we got, but we will SO be back. We loved going from resort to resort seeing the holiday decorations and special offerings as well as the Candlelight Processional-so touching. MVMCP was very crowded-would like to try doing that with some family members. The weather was unpredictable-one night we froze when we left our gloves and coats in the car (shorts and sweatshirt weather during the day), but we were overdressed the next night when we went to MVMCP! Layers are important as is a well-laid plan...we didn't really notice low crowds-seemed pretty crowded for us, but we were there over a weekend so I'm sure we got alot of the local crowds. I don't think I would recommend this time of year for a *first* visit as there is so much EXTRA to see-it's tough enough to get a good overview of WDW on your first trip without having extra parties and decorations to take in too!

Hope that helped-there is not a time I wouldn't go to WDW! Every season brings pros as well as cons-just keep that in mind.

I usually go in September. I like the warm weather, the low crowds, and value prices plus it tends to work best with my schedule. I am a voice teacher and also teach in a couple of schools. The week around Labor Day is usually slow as students are away or just returning and schools have not really started yet. It is the best all around for me! :cool1:
