For those of you have flown recently, am I allowed to pack a razor in my carry-on? Flying with Allegiant.

1. Razors - There’s a lot of confusion out there as to what types of razors are OK to pack in your carry-on baggage. So people ask us about this one all the time.

• Safety Razors: Because the razor blades are so easy to remove, safety razors are not permitted in your carry-on luggage with the blade. They’re fine to pack in your carry-on without the blade. The blades must be stored in your checked luggage. The same applies for straight razors.
• Disposable Razors: Disposable razors come in two types. The kind that is completely disposable (handle and all), or the kind where you replace them with cartridges. These are permissible in carry-on luggage with the blade and replacement cartridges.
• Electric Razors: Electric razors are permitted in both checked and carry-on bags.

You pretty much just can't have bare blades or the ability to get bare blades.

Anything that could be considered a weapon isn't allowed on the airplane. Is there some reason you don't want to pack this in your checked baggage?

If they are not checking a bag. They are but want to have everything they need for the first 24 hours with them.

Good catch. Yes, if you can take the blades out and have them apart from mechanism it can be a weapon.

I feel like I'm missing some parts of this conversation. Did the OP say they were trying to smuggle in some kind of illicit razor?

Wow. I'm not checking a bag, a backpack only. I just wanted to bring a disposable razor to shave my legs, not trying to take anyone out. Thanks for the info on the type of razors that are allowed.

You can still kill a man with a Gillette. Not mortally, just wound his ego by shaving off a strip of beard while he's napping in the seat next to you.

I don't fly Allegiant, but do carry disposable razors in my carryon bags.

You never know, i might want to shave my legs mid flight
