Ok, I just need to vent a bit. Obviously, everyone on this site are frequent Dis goers right? Don't you think that Disney would try and throw us a bone(code) once in a while, especially when we make YEARLY trips? They are NOT hurting over a code, we ALL spend plenty down there. Also, how do they even choose the person. Just a little needed off my chest. Much better now.

I hear ya sister! Been 3 times in three years and never have received anything. But oh how i try!

Really!! They should take care of the folks that take care of them.

Ditto! However it seams like they send codes to those who don't visit often to "make" them come back, but what about those who may not keep going back becaue it cost so much?? Will we get a code if we skip going for several years?

I go at least once every year, too. Last year, they of course sent me a code/postcard. The one year that we decided we couldn't make it to disney world :confused3  :badpc:

I'm right there with you. We've been 7 times in the past 6 years and nothing!! Although I have to admit that this years trip will be the first trip that we haven't gotten some kind of discount. We always get the AP(makes sense for the length of our stays) discount every year, got visa card holder discount one year, general public discount once, but nothing this year, and since this is my oldest childs first year in kindergarten we cannot go until the 23rd (21st is her last day of school) so we miss the AP discount this year. UGH!!! But alas we will go anyway and so that is probably why they don't give use codes because they know we will go anyway, LOL...

I am so glad I am not alone in my feelings. I have been 7 times in the past 6 years myself, and 2 more times in the mid 90's. I just think this is nuts. Why not reward those who go yearly. My goodness I earn more from Southwest (alcoholic drink rewards) keep'm coming. Of course I am paying thousands again, with no code.

I have been 2 or 3 times a year for the past 10 years and never received a code. My husband does not like Disney and has only traveled with us a few times - but last summer HE got a code!! :confused3

I'm so with you. I actually emailed Disney last week saying more or less the same thing. I appreciate they are running a business and try to entice people to come but show some appreciation to your loyal customers. We own DVC and have AP's, I got no code for our dates at the Poly so I canceled the Poly and booked POR, I also canceled the DDP. We order more and eat more when we're on the plan. I decided to add up roughly what we would order/spend on food paying cash vs the cost of the dining plan. We will save money not having the plan. I am so glad we purchased DVC when we did, this is our last cash trip, if we don't have the points then we won't do Disney!

I hear your pain...I've always traveled with a code...I don't go several times a year (couldn't afford it!) but I can travel at ANY time of the year and the codes dictate WHEN I go...we travel there about every 2-3 years for about 7 days...it's ultimately a business that runs on supply/demand...no need to run specials if their rooms are getting booked up..

My question is how many rooms that get booked on a daily basis actually reflect a true room taken...meaning, MANY rooms get reserved and released multiple times before folks really decide....and it's those folks that want the "whole" package (dining reservations that are hard to get)...for example, we had hoped to go in April...we had a contract on our other house and had a closing date...when I went to plan the dining (since I'm on an under 60 day window, many restaurants I could not get....for us eating at the castle is a family tradition and we love it...but could not get it) when our contract fell through, I realized I needed to postpone our trip...also realized in order to have the full deal and have a good chance at planning our character meals and such I need to book 180 days out..so now I've got a reservation for 7 nights in September...but if our house sells this month, I might just go back to the April date and go then....

You see I've made 2 reservations (actually 3, the first reservation was at the Poly, then the code came out for waterparks so it wasn't available at the Poly so I switched to YC..now we've switched dates)....I wouldn't even think of booking for September unless our dining depended on it...I think all these "booked" rooms make it VERY hard for marketing to figure out how many rooms are actually going to be accounted for....

It just all drives me nuts, it must drive the folks trying to figure out offering codes nuts!

that is why we do not get anything! because we a;ready spend down there, and they know it!
I have at random times brought with me like the guy I was dating, well, last year I got a card in the mail, my address and last name on it...but it was HIS first name! so I know it was meant for him.
This has happened to me a few times.
But yet I have been 23 times and have stayed in most deluxe resorts and nothing!!! so that is how I justify that one!:confused3

but I do have to say I have always gotten a discount, I just buy an AP. But this is my last year for that!

I feel the same way----even though we are lucky enough to drive over and back home in the same day, living only 40 mins from THE WORLD:cloud9: --we still go 3-4 times a year when we stay for 3-4 days,,are Fl residents and have an AP..I have never received a code:confused3 BUT I guess they know the ones that go NO matter what!!! OK now maybe we will ALL get a great CODE this year!!!!!:thumbsup2

I have gone every year, sometimes twice a year, and have never gotten a code. A couple of years ago I brought some friends. Two had never been and they just received a code. So unfair! I guess they know they will get our money so why bother sending us a code. It's the ones who don't go that they want to get....boo hoo....

I go anywhere from 3-5 times a year and have never received a Code. I guess they know AP holders will be making more than one trip in a year, so assume they don't need to offer us a code to get us back.

For what it's worth:

Not everyone here is a frequent visitor. This is our first trip since 1990.

Kudos to you, but that is my point.....those of us who do frequent get NO codes:confused3 ? Those who don't go often do get them. Congrats, we just want Disney to reward frequent D goers too. Lets make it a win, win situation.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear.

My point was that not all DIS members get to WDW on a regular basis.

Hang in there - it CAN happen. I never received a post card or an email, but I got a code by calling and trying to book a dining package at POP. The CM didn't say it was a code, or an upsell.....as a matter of fact, she didn't know what to call it. She referred to it as "the mystery special offer." It actually turned out to be 40% off the nightly room rate and saved me about $400+!! (My invoice, DOES have a 3 letter code attached to it by the way.) Anyway, my point is that it just might happen when you least expect it! :thumbsup2

I totally agree fellow Pennsylvanian. We have been AP holders for years and go at least twice a year. I can't remember the last time we vacationed someplace other than Disney. No codes ever for us. :confused3
