I have a friend who just posted pictures of some light snow she is having in Ocala Florida!!! I check the wunderground.com website and it says 38 degrees and ice pellets right now. I guess you just make the best of it if your in Disney but I hate the cold and would hope it would be a little toasterer than that

I know...Personally I'm sick of this damn cold weather. I moved down here to get away from the cold. I guess I need to keep moving south.

It is freezing. Our best friends live in Denver and it is warmer there now.

I think part of the problem is that it is so wet. There is freezing rain and it is like little pins pelting your skin. I had a problem with our garage door and was out for about 15 minutes and I had enough!

Now before northerners start saying, 34? You guys are wimps, it is 5 here! Please remember that you also own appropriate cold weather gear. We have stuff but my life long Floridian neighbors are out in unlined denim jackets with Old Navy fleece underneath. The little girl across the street called to borrow gloves and a hat to go to her brother's game since they don't have any.

We also don't have proper furnaces. Heat pumps don't really heat all that well when it is below freezing.

And still some people think that we live in shorts year round and swim all year too. this has been an exceptionally cold winter so far, but we always get days that are this cold. I have loved here all of my life and we have had snow flurries about 8 times that I can remember and then that one year around Christmas time when Jacksonville shut down due to ice. It was terrible. I hate the cold.

When we went to Orlando a few years ago, in December, it was warmer here in England! Just remembered, we had to de-ice the car windscreen after we had eaten breakfast at the GF.

Yep, its Florida and it's cold. Granted, notas cold as up north, but cold for us. I'm in West Palm, and right now my computer says it's 39 and raining. THey are expectin git to get down lower overnight. Makes it miserable. This is not normal for here...not record breaking, but not normal. But it should warm up a little next week.

I'm in North Fl. We are at 28 now. Have seen 15-16 for the low tonight. We have had a week of this. It has not gone above freezing much of the week.

:thumbsup2 Former lifetime Michigander who moved to Ocala about 6 yrs. ago. 1st year We LAUGHED at locals wearing parkas, gloves, etc. when it hit low 50's.

We each kept one heavy jacket and sweaters (in case of an unexpected mid-winter trip back to MI) but even sweaters were weeded out over the years. Didn't bother moving $2.00 pair of gloves, we won't need them!

(Pssst: gloves are worth their weight in gold these days.) Guess the last laugh is on us. ;)

I think you can blame my brother-in-law (my husband's oldest brother). I asked them up to join us for Christmas. We live in Pennsylvania. He and his wife live in Tampa. I have asked them every year for 10 years - they have never visited. There is always some excuse. His excuse this year is they were staying home to sit by the pool in their shorts and enjoy margaritas. "It's too cold in Pennsylvania." My husband's family is originally from Chicago. I certainly hope he is enjoying his "warm" weather!! :lmao:

My sister just moved to Clearwater this past August, when she was up for Xmas she kept saying how cold she was. I'm thinking she was still saying it when she got back to Clearwater. One of her main reasons for moving was the warmer climate, I am sure this is a fluke for Florida.
I just hope the little lizard guys and animals are all ok and the crops :sad2:

Right now at WDW it is 31 feels like 22

predicted low tonight is 26.

Looks like the runners will be moving fast tomorrow.

Where I live is below Alabama in the Pensacola area and it has been 23 and a tad colder. On the lawns this morning it had ice all over the grass.

We were at WDW in December about 4 years ago. We were at the airport in Denver and made a big show of throwing our coats back in the car , exclaiming "We're going to DisneyWorld! We don't need no stinkin coats!"

When we got there it was highs in the 40s, freeze warnings out for the orange crops at night and it actually snowed a flurry or two. We froze our tails off, spent big dollars on jackets at DHS. TBS, it was still a great vacation. The lines for Kali were non-existent...

We were there one December and I have pictures of tiny icicles from plants the next morning. Arrived at MK to find all the flowerbeds & poinsettias dead. Gardening crew replacing flowerbeds as fast as they could during opening hours.

This happened a few times during the week, and each morning, gardening crews were replacing flowerbeds early each morning all over the WDW property. Each day, the bed had a different flower in them.

With all the cutbacks, I wonder if they still do this?

On the news last night they showed the tiniest snowman in Ocala. It's freezing here too. I don't like it.

yes I cant help but snicker at 30 degree weather when its 9 degrees here in Ohio this morning but at the same time I know how bad this cold snap can affect those farmers of oranges and other fruit and I really hope that their crops are not too badly damaged.

I remember attending a MVMCP a few years ago when I indeed needed to wear my coat and hat and gloves. It was so cold I wasnt sure if the snow I saw at the party was fake or real..lol

I hope it warms up for you guys soon! This is terrible.... if it was only a day or two that would be one thing, but holy cow you guys have had ENOUGH!

I posted a few weeks back that when we were there last January we had just missed the frost-they had signs all over asking us to excuse their appearance as they were hit with a frost & were replacing these plants. Someone else had posted that they thought they may have learned from it b/c they had quite a few plants covered...:confused3
