Sorry, not sure where to post this. Has anyone ever been to the Frestyle Music Park in Myrtle Beach? What can you tell me about it? Worth the money? Good for kids?

This post will probably be moved to another board since it has nothing to do with Universal. ;)

I was there last year when it was Hard Rock Park. We really liked it and thought it had huge potential but there is not much for little ones. Prices are nice and low right now though.

This park opened last year as Hard Rock Park,I've seen many photo trip reports on it and aside from needing more trees the park did look nice, the problem was that it had a very high admission price, did not have enough major attractions to warrant that price and it was located in Myrtle Beach, which even though is a tourist area just did not draw nowhere near what they thought would draw. The park was supposed to open year round and even in the middle of summer there were days with probably 100 cars in the parking lot,or less. When the park filed bankruptcy and closed as Hard Rock Park I was worried it would become a shopping mall as I thought it really looked like it had potential.Luckily a group bought it for $25 million and did a pretty good job of reopening it.I know they've been getting somewhat better attendance this year with a little lower ticket prices and deals like 2 admissions for $17.76 which I think they did for July 4th and totally packed the park, and have continued that promotion until July 26.many people are still worried if the park will survive past this year, but at least I think the buyers did get the park at a deal so they're not completely strapped. The one thing everyone says is that if it was located somewhere else it would be doing much better.I think the park is worth doing,I know if I could get up there soon I would.

Thanks, maybe I'll give it a try if I can get some good discounts on tickets.

Good deal is an understatement considering what the investors payed to get that park up.

My sister went to the park with her daughter(5). She did not find it worth it for adults. She did say if your there for kids it is probably worth it. Had a water area and a small coaster for kids and a few ferris wheel fair type rides. From what I have read there is 2 coasters the big one which she said was not impressive and then the eagles which is probably renamed atm and then a dark ride.

I would say it would depend on the price you can get a ticket for. I thought when they bought the park they lowered price dramatically but I could be wrong about that. If you happen to be in Myrtle Beach it could be fun to do but I am not so sure its worth an out of the way trip to see.

There are actually 5 coasters. We enjoyed the other things as well like the jumping area, the balls area, the dark ride (Nights in White Satin last year), the concerts and the fireworks. The park needs more rides but it won't happen unless people actually go.

Here is a link http://www.freestylemusicpark.com/ Looks like they have added a bunch of kiddie rides since we were there last year.

Prices are actually fantastic. Through July 26th you get two tickets for $17.76

.

We don't go to MB until Aug 15th, so hopefully they'll run some specials at the end of the summer.

We're leaving this Friday for MB. Last year at the huge visitors bureau on the highway, they were offering really great deals for tickets for the park and for Nascar. We thought we'd check-in 1st, then later in the week, if we decide to go, then drive up the road to get discounts rather than fighting the weekend check-in crowds. They have decent deals, too, at the visitors bureau at Broadway at the beach.
