Freefoarm formally abc family

It's FREEFORM.
They are doing the same shows currently, but I have noticed a few new ads being shown. And I believe they will be adding some new shows. It's definitely marketing to the older teens now as opposed to younger teens and families.

Screwed up Series recording on DVR, New Channel name does not jive with old DVR Settings.

Definitely. A show about rehab? No thanks. Not for tweens or preteens IMO.

I'm glad they changed the name because the content they have been showing for a few years (maybe longer?) has not all been family-friendly for all ages. I'm fine with the new name of Freeform and the content of the shows since the new name doesn't imply it's suitable for the entire family to gather and watch. It really was the right move to make if they wanted to continue catering toward teens & young adults. Ultimately, however, it's a parents responsibility to monitor and filter what their kids can and cannot watch.

I love a couple of shows on Freeform/ABC Family: The Fosters and Pretty Little Liars are a couple of my favorites...neither are suitable in my opinion for tweens or younger. I'm a bit shocked at the new rehab show -- I think it was a terrible decision to move forward with it and I don't plan to watch any of it.

Don't watch any of their shows. The one that I did watch (Chasing Life) was canceled.

I knew they were changing the name a while ago. The reason stated was to appeal more to the younger crowd (the 18 to 30 year olds I think). I don't like the new name and wish they would have stayed with the ABC Family name instead. DH and I do watch Shadowhunters on there.

My DD is 20 and used to watch Pretty Little Liars and some other show on the channel. She is no longer interested in any of the shows, so I don't think they're doing too well with all of the demographic they are going for if it's young 20s. The only time we seem to have it on is when they show a movie we like (Harry Potter weekend....which is really like every other weekend, comes to mind).

I didn't like the content of some of the shows either. In my opinion they seemed to be gearing the shows toward a specific demographic.

I'm glad they changed the name - abc family implied that the programs were suitable for kids of all ages, and that was not the case. My 13 and almost 15 year olds are big fans of a lot of the shows.

DISH TV took our one and only ABC channel away about a month ago. :( :( :(

I have it set as a favorite channel, if only for the Harry Potter Weekends. :wizard: I definitely agree that some of their shows were not consistent with the old name. I guess they picked the new one so they'd never have to change it again. - You can't get much more vague than "Freeform", so they can go in whatever direction they want with programming now.

Despite the disclaimer, they still air that lunatic Pat Robertson which is scary for both adults and kids.

Yeah I thought they said no more 700 club once the switch is made

I have never seen it but would that show be better on hallmark or another Christian channel
