We are about 40 minutes southeast of Seattle, in the foothills of the Cascades. We have gotten about 3 inches of snow since 7pm and are having wind gusts up to 75mph. We are hoping the power stays on, but it has started flickering in the last hour.
Everything is shutting down here as well. DD went to school one day this week and it was on delay. DH has been working from home since Wed. We just moved from MI, so it seems silly to have a whole state shutting down for a few inches of snow, but we are quickly understanding the impact snow & ice have on the mountainous terrain. DH tried to make it to work on Thursday, he got about 6 miles from the office when the police started shutting down the highways and the majority of the roads in Seattle, so he turned around and came home. The news was reporting that even if you made it into the city, you couldn't get into the parking garages because of all the road closures.
