I know that WBC offers free internet in all the rooms, but you have to physically connect to the internet wire. I've heard guests say that you can buy a router and make the internet wireless. As someone who is not tech savvy, how would I go about doing this? What kind of router do I buy?
:confused3

You can buy a 25' Ethernet cable for $5. ;)

Of course, if you're trying to use a tablet, that won't help...

Bonnet Creek rooms have ethernet cables attached to the phone...no need to buy one:banana:

Free WIFI was available, but it was spotty at best this past week. I didn't use wired internet while I was there.

So there is no wifi in room? Only wired? Seems so antiquated in this day and age. Can't remember the last time I stayed somewhere without in room wifi. We will be in a 2 bedroom presidential in bldg 6. This makes a difference whether I bring just my ipad or a laptop as well.

There is free Wifi in tower 6.

As for rooms without wifi, the Disney resorts are just starting to get it now. Also, many high-end resorts charge for any Internet access, wifi or not, while it has always been free at Bonnet Creek.

FWIW, the Wyndham owners online resort page now lists WiFi as an in-unit amenity for all unit types/sizes. I don't know if that means they have rolled it out everywhere, are in the process of doing so, or may do so someday. If it is important to you to know the specific details it is probably worth calling the resort.

We are currently in bldg. 4 and I am pretty sure there isnt wifi. I didnt see any network to pick anyway

So every room in tower 6 has free wifi? Just wanted to clarify. thanks:)

yes there is free wifi in all buildings (as of 2013)

In 2012 they were installing wifi in all buildings.

All the previous posts in this thread (other than yours) are from 2012.

True. We were in Building 5 in Sept, then in Building 6 in Dec. We used the free wifi both trips.

As the two previous posters have said, there is free Wi-Fi generally available, no matter what tower you are in. With that being said though, I found the quality of the Wi-Fi to be mediocre, at best last year.

With regards to all of the comments from 2012 regarding wired Ethernet, when I was there in spring 2013 in Tower 5, I could not find any wired Ethernet in my room. I searched high and low but couldn't find anything, and I've got 20 years experience in the networking field. :confused3 It was not attached to the phone in my room as someone previously suggested (again, that was from 2012, so much could have changed).

I had brought my own router with me in the hopes of serving up my own local Wi-Fi, but that was obviously a no-go. I'm not going to bother bringing the router this year.

They removed them all when they went with the wifi in the rooms. Bummer too because as some have said, the wifi is sketchy at times.

We stayed there back in November 2013 and was able to connect to the wi-fi the first day but from day 2 on it was impossible to connect. Husband has a mobile wi-fi hotspot device so we just connected to that. If we had not had that we would not have been on the internet much that week. We were in tower 5- 5th floor.

was just there this week in building 4 and in building 5 in Dec. Used wifi both times and it was fine. They give you the code when you check in.
