I didn't see this posted anywhere before i left so just a heads up to anyone who needs WiFi at disney.
We checked into ssr and as of today WiFi is free! Its free at a number of resorts - beach club, animal kingdom, boardwalk, contemporary, coronado, grand Floridian, poly, wilderness lodge, okw and yatch club.

It's about time too in my opinion. No need to be staying at the resort either anyone can connect.

Also wired has been reduced to $9.99 a day.

Its been free for a while, was free in oct when we went, it started in oct i think as when we checked into okw the i fo in the room was all still about wired but wifi was free

I'm so worried about incurring ridiculous charges from Orange when we are there, I wasn't planning on taking either my IPhone or my IPad but does this mean that as long as I turn the roaming off on both devices, I should be able to still use the Internet and not incur any costs, via their WIFI? This would be great for keeping track of ADR's and booking/cancelling if required!

Yes, just turn off roaming and you will be fine. In August we had 3 phones, 2 laptops, a netbook and an Ipad, just used the inroom internet with no roaming fees, only extra cost we had was about 60p for Skype.

My ipad picked up disney free wifi in our room fine, we had two phones and laptop and ipad running on it, was fantastic to skype and facetime home, wont be using it this year as both families are with us

No savings for us as we got free internet as DVC members anyway but a great perk for those who would previously have had to pay for it.

We are dvc too but have never had free wireless only with a cable connection.

Indeed, for DVC it's not about the savings but the convenience - loved the wifi when I was there in November!
