Free Water?

I think this has been answered before, but is it true that you can get a cup of ice and/or water anywhere around WDW?

I'm wondering because I always buy bottled water and then fill it up at the fountains (ugh), but I'd love to have a cup with water and ice and a straw. If they Do give free water, how do they sell the bottled water? Dummies like me I guess?

Any counter-service place will give you free ice water. If you really like bottled water or, like me, can't stand the WDW water (dunno if it's over-chlorinated or what, but my stomach gets upset), then you can get a Brita Fill-N-Go bottle. You fill it with water and it filters it as you drink. DD and I wouldn't go without ours - and they're on clearance at Walmart these days!

They sell the bottled water for people who don't like the taste of tap water or just need to have bottled water.

I usually just buy the small bottle the first day and use it for the entire trip. I'll refill at the fountains, and I'll ask for free water during meal times. Works perfectly.

I used the Brita for a while, but I hate lugging that big bottle all over the place. With the small one, it's not heavy and I can just refill what I need along the day and my water is always somewhat cold.

I always ask for a cup of ice and/or ice and water. (I don't drink pop, never developed a taste for it)

How big are these free cups of ice water that they give out? Just wondering how much of my Brita-fill-and-go bottle it will actually fill up.

Yup, it'll fill a Brita quite nicely with the ice of course.

To me the free water tastes the same as the fountain water. It tastes like there is sulfur in it. I've got a couple Britas for this trip.
