...Remeber, it's not YOUR park, just because you purchased a timeshare. Everyone deserves to have the best vacation possible. The people that were upgraded just got an extra special treat from Disney, which is great for them, but to think that you as a DVC member deserve something because these "value people" are coming into "your" resort is to me very petty and childish.
I think you are missing my initial point, so please allow me to restate it. If Disney uses CRO rooms to conduct a promotion (this seems true based on the limited availability), then it is fantastic and I am very happy for the upgraded families (and us). Their purchase proceeds will go to helping offset the cost of keeping SSR and OKW operating, which helps a lot.
The concern I had was if Disney was using empty member alloted rooms to further their own gain at our expense (operating cost), and Debbie set me straight on this one, thanks!

. I also wanted to express my hope that if someone upgraded from
any Disney resort stays at a DVC property, I hope they understand it isn't mainly Disney (a large corporation thought to have deep pockets) that pays for maitenance, upkeep, and operations on these properties. Instead it is us, the average member, that mainly pays these costs, and to please be kind. I don't think anyone mentioned the parks, but we do own (or at least have a long term lease) on SSR and OKW.
I'd hate to hear if any DVCers treat the upgraders as second class citizens. Seems very petty to me.
I don't think this will happen, especially from DISer DVC members. In adition, there is no way to tell who is staying at a given resort on points, cash, upgrade, etc. Thus, I think everyone will be treated as if they are long standing members, as it should be.
