I wonder why no one ever mentioned about the sheraton hotel at orlando airport, they offer free transportation to hotel from airport, which is at least a $90 savings. Anyone ever stay there? Also wondering about transportaion from ship to universal then back to airport, looks so far best i could do is $180does that sound good? Should I keep tring for lower rates, or is waste of time? also just wanted to say I have been lurking forever and found out great info, thanks everyone!!!

Many people have mentioned various hotels in the MCO airport area and their free shuttles back to the airport to pick up the DCL transfers (fee based) to the ship. can't help you with universal...best bet to me would be a car service. Just curious what you are basing the savings of $90 on....do you mean it would cost you $90 for transportation from MCO to your airport hotel??? That's crazy especially since there are so many airport area hotels that off free shuttles to and from the airport. Or, do you mean the cost to go from the airport to a hotel near Port Canaveral? There is no way a hotel would provde free transportation from the airport to their hotel location at Port Canaveral...that would be fantastic if they did but they don't. The airport is about 45-50 miles from the port.

Where to stay is such a personal decision....many people like to stay by the airport hotel night before and many like to stay at a hotel near Port Canaveral and then again many people like to stay at WDW the night before the cruise....

Any way you slice it to take transportation from the airport to the port is going to cost you money, either with DCL transfers, renting your own car or using a car service...no free rides from the airport to the port and back. The only complimentary buses are those with Magical Express if you are staying at a WDW resort....then your bus ride is free from airport to your resort and then resort back to airport...but Magical Express DOES NOT go to the port or back.

I am confused.
Most Orlando airport hotels offer free shuttles. It is only about a mile from the airport to most of them.
You still have to get from the hotel to Port Canaveral (@ 50 miles?) which is where the cost comes in. How do you figure a savings?

I guess my brain turned to mush, trying so hard to make all the right choices; i dont know what i was talking about, of course you still have to get to the port from the hotel, no $90 savings, ignore me!!!
