I used to subscribe to this magazine, and I'd love to get it again . . . but I read the privacy policy. By accepting the magazine, you're giving "them" permission to track your online movements (though they say they do it through an assigned number). They'll monitor and record the websites you visit, the amount of time you spend there, and more . . . and they're going to give this information to their "third party affiliates". Under the section titled "special circumstances" they admit that they may give out personal information to others. What does all that mean? Well, among other things, if you order anything online, they'll see the page on which you type in your credit card. If you're looking up information on delicate personal things (perhaps AIDS or abortions), someone will have a record of you doing it.
These people are very computer savvy, and the threat of identity theft and invasion of privacy is very real.
I advise anyone who's looking at this free magazine to read the privacy policy carefully. Speaking only for myself, I found it to be too much.
