Are there more things included with your room besides soap and shampoo if you just ask. I was buying some of those Palmolive dish washing pads to wash up the refillable mugs and stuff, when my co-workers made fun of me and said they would have some dishwashing liquid at the hotel. they said I was over-doing it. Am I????

This is my first time ever on vacation I'm 34.

We've stayed at Disney before and the only thing we had in our rooms was the soap and shampoo. There was no dishwashing soap there.

No dishwashing liquid that I've ever seen. just soap, shampoo, lotion, hairdryer available. Some non-disney hotels will have other amenities such as nail-files, sewing kits, shoe shine rags ets...haven't seen dishwahing liquid anywhere. I don't think it is possible to go overboard...plan away and have fun. Is this really your first vacation...I hope you have a GREAT time.

Thanks!!!!! I was sure I wasn't crazy.....I mean those things need to washed right??

Unless you are staying in a DVC resort, there is no dish soap or anything thing else beside soap and shampoo. I am strictly speaking of Disney resorts.

I always bring a small container of dishwashing liquid too!! I need to wash those mugs once and awhile as well. LOL!!

Here's a tip I swiped from the budget board. Wet a regular sponge, put dish soap on it and wring it out. Let it dry out completely and then cut into small squares. Store squares in a zip-loc. When wet, the soap will reactivate and then it can be used to clean mugs. When done, just toss. I used these last month and they worked great!

What a great idea!

How clever!

:thumbsup2 Wow! We travel a lot and I am in LOVE with your sponge idea!! I'll be doing that.

OP-- in all our travels, the only places that have ever had dish soap available were the ones with a kitchen--cabins, etc.

ITA to bring your own-- there are so many "helpful" people out there when you are ready to go on a trip with not so hot advice...

This is a great idea!!! I have been looking for the cloths with the soap in them but have had a difficult time. This is alot better!!!

We also buy liquid hand soap and take it with us! :goodvibes
We are not DVC members but stayed in SSR (Studio) in 2007. They did provide the cutest little bottle of Palmolive dishsoap!

For the 10 years that we stayed at WDW hotels, we had shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, sewing kits, shoe shine cloth, coffee machine with a few pods of coffee and tea bags, hair dryer, iron, refrigerator. Depending on which hotel you are staying at, you can definitely make a special request for something and they will try to accomodate you. One year, we asked for mouthwash and was told it was available if it was asked for specifically. If you are coming with a car, I would recommend that you buy dish soap or any other special items at the local drug store or supermarket since these things tend to leak when packed.
