Just a friendly reminder here for EVERYONE:
It is YOUR responsibility to PM the swappers BOTH before AND after you to exchange information. I do not now, nor have I ever, and do not intend to collect and hold onto everyone's information...in order for the swap to continue smoothly (barring any issues w/ luggage services) YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU have to get the info and give your info...HOW in the world to you expect the box to be there for you if you never give your info to the person who is there before you? And how in the world do you plan on leaving the box for the next person w/out getting their info??
DO NOT WAIT TO BE CONTACTED BY THE SWAPPERS BEFORE AND AFTER YOU...BE THE FIRST!! AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TIL ONE OR TWO DAYS BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!
I am venting because this is happening more and more...the last minute panic because someone never heard back, or forgot, or whatever...
And PLEASE...if there was a problem with the box, please let me know ASAP...I know not everyone has internet at the world (I don't!!) but as soon as you get home & back on your computer send me an email or a PM. Or better yet, if there's a problem down there, ask for Orlando Vega, the manager. He is familiar with our box & if anyone can locate it, he can!!
Sorry if this is coming off a little harsh...it's just that sometimes it gets to me. As I've said before, this swap relies on the swappers...if one person breaks down, it all falls apart. And it seems to be happening more & more that I'm put in the position of bothering poor Mr. Vega at Port Orleans. It's not his job to deal w/ the box...it's OUR job to deal with the box & make it as little work for them as possible. How long before he tells me, "Sorry, can't help you with this anymore" and doesn't allow our swap to continue... I live in NY...I'm not in Orlando where I can pop over to PO & deal with this stuff.
Ok, rant over. Just please check the list on the front page of the thread. It is current...that is where you find the ID's of the people to contact to swap info.
As of right now, the box is missing, again. The swapper contacted me that it wasn't there and maybe she'd have time to check again...but hasn't followed up with me, so I'm not sure the status of the box. Hopefully I'll have good news soon...
Also...if your trip OVERLAPS w/ the next swapper, please try to arrange a face-to-face swap so it doesn't get lost in luggage services. Thanks.
