Please tell them "long term luggage storage" exactly - they will not find it otherwise. When I picked it up, I went to the front desk 3 times and asked for it, and then finally went back with a cast member. DBF began walking around the luggage storage area looking at things while I was semi-arguing with the CM, and low and behold there it was

That's a great tip about asking them to look in "long term luggage storage"...I had no idea there was a separate storage area for that!!

I finally managed to get online. We are here now, but cannot find the box. I just read to check long term luggage, so I will try that in the morning. We have two days left and Kristin checks in on the 14, so I am going to just change out the name and leave it for her. I sent her a email to let her know what is going on to look for it under her name or possibly mine. I'll try and get online before we leave to give an update.

Good luck! Sometimes you have to be very firm with them...make them search. If you can describe it, it may help. It gets "lost" fairly often, until a swapper forces them to really look for it...usually turns up. Have a magical trip!!

Well- we just got back. I found the box on 10/17.Thank you avonlady for the picture. Unfortunately, it was at the FQ and I was at Riverside. They said they would send a runner if they had one available to bring it to Riverside. I was leaving to go toMNSSHP and would not return until late in the night. So I sent Kendra a text and told her to pick it up. The good news is that the box exists- but I wasnlt able to use it. I hope it gets to Kendra. Have fun everyone!

Thanks for the update! Sorry you couldn't use it! Next time! I'm glad it turned up.

It's important to write the name of the resort on the box under the next person's name...generally they will have it at the correct resort when the person checks in but they can't do that if they don't know...don't know if that was part of the problem, but it never hurts to offer a reminder for all future swappers.

It took a few tries, but eventually it was found and was waiting in our room when we returned on our 2nd day.

My daughter had a blast going through all the items--we used some laundry soap, paper bowls and spoons for our breakfast cereal, a couple glow sticks and the little pink fan (which was returned to the box for others to use).

I tried to organize things a bit, using the plastic baggies and we added: lots of individual bags and boxes of chips and cereal, some granola bars, hand sanitizer and maybe a few other things. There are still quite a few ponchos and sunscreen, in case anyone coming later wants to back lighter.

I did remove several "past guest" stickers from the box, which may have been adding to the "can't find the box" issue. I suggest you make sure to remove any luggage services tags (they will have lots of little stickers on them, it's OK to remove) before you pass it on, and make sure the next guest's name and resort is very visible. There is packing tape in the box, so since I'd just brought the next person's name on an index card, it was easy to tape it right to the box. I hope you get it, Yvonne!

Thanks to all who've donated items and to those keeping the swap going. It's a nice way to pay it forward and added to the magic of our trip!

I'm so glad the box turned up! You're right, kaweb, all the stickers may have thrown them off!

Message to all current & future swappers:
Please be sure to check the updated list on the first page when your time is near to make sure you are pm'ing the right people. The list changes constantly with new swappers & dropouts.

When you check out, please make sure the only sticker on the box is the one YOU put there with the next swapper's name on it. Remove all that were there before you.

Box is all set for Disney Bunch including 3 toy story fast passes we got from ride breakdown good till Nov 15. I taped those inside lid. The box is VERY heavy so use a luggage cart. It was already heavyplus added some cans of soda and half case of water. Tons of cereal too so don't bring that. Lots of candy from mnsshp too. Very fun and useful swap!
