Free Kindle Downloads?

My girlfriend just got a Kindle and I know that I have seen free kindle downloads somewhere before. Does anyone know where she can look? Thank you.

I always go to http://www.kindleboards.com/. Go to the Book Bazaar, Free Book Thread. It's updated each month. You will need to verify that the book is still free when you click on it, though. Sometimes books are only free for a short while. I missed the one day last year when the Lemony Snicket books were all free, but I've snagged a bunch of other great freebies!

For Out of Copyright Public Domain books, I usually download from the MobileRead library. They have volunteers which take the books from Gutenberg etc and clean them up and format them nicely.

Agree, and also I just found www.ThriftyReads.com very nice format for mobile viewing, I use it whenever I am on my iPhone and not bother going to Amazon
