Free KFC 2 peice PLUS 2 sides & biscuit coupon!!!

Sadly, I think KFC lost me over this one. I see they are trying to do the right thing but who wants to drive to KFC to fill out a form to get a free coupon for certain dates. I assure you that if 4 people fill them out at the same time that the coupon will be good for 4 different times. Thus trying to get you to eat there now and when redeeming each coupon!!

I printed them and gave one to DH to use for his lunch.

He went yesterday and didn't have any problems using it.

Looks like I'm totally out of luck. First time I tried to print the computer froze up. After sitting there 30+ minutes I tried again. This time it quickly said I had printed my allotment of coupons. Oh well. I usually dont go to KFC anyway.

I think they should have provided the raincheck ONLINE for you to print out and send in OR take to your KFC if you wish.

My KFC's wouldn't honor the coupon when we went so I don't hold a lot of hope they are actually going to do anything with the raincheck other than throw it in the trash.

Has this been officially announced? Like I said, DH used his yesterday no problem...
They had an announcement on Oprah today. Plus, there is supposedly something on the KFC website.

Ours is... there was a front page interview and article in our paper today. :thumbsup2

They do not have the new chicken but are substituting original or crispy.

If we want to drive about 15 miles to the next town, they are honoring it as well according to the manager interviewed in our paper and that location does have the new chicken.

Perhaps you should call ahead before driving to your local KFC however, as it does seem some still are, but that a lot are not, honoring the coupons!

Hmm.. thanks. I'll ask to make sure before I go use mine. At least DH got to use one of them! :goodvibes

Really??? A company is giving away FREE food, clearly got overwhelmed by an unexpectedly high response and is trying to 'pick up the pieces' but still give away what they promised.. but you are going to hold this against them? I can see if this cost you something, but it is free. The worst it cost you is a bit of printer ink and maybe some high hopes for a free meal.

I saw a commercial today from KFC apologizing for the mishap and promising to fix it. I don't eat KFC that often, but I think in the coming weeks I am going to.

DH and I had some grilled KFC chicken (is that an oxymoron?) a couple of weeks ago. It was REALLY good! There were also some pretty good coupons in the paper for the grilled chicken last week.

Free food or not, I highly recommend the grilled chicken.

Don't know if anyone's posted this or not. But here's the message on the KFC website from the president.

"..We are so sorry, but due to the overwhelming response to our FREE Kentucky Grilled Chicken™ meal coupon, we can no longer redeem the free coupon at this time. But we will honor our commitment to giving you a free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meal.

Please visit a participating KFC restaurant for a rain check form. Complete the form, attach your original coupon , and give it to the KFC restaurant manager or postmark per the form’s instructions, by May 19, 2009, and we’ll send you a rain check for your free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meal at a later date, plus a free Pepsi with our compliments. Your participating KFC restaurant will provide you with the form you need.

Please note that the redemption periods of the rain checks will vary. All other terms and conditions of the original free Kentucky Grilled Chicken coupon will apply.

Thank you for your understanding,

Roger Eaton
KFC® President "

I know everyone is mad but I didn't mind filling out the rain check. If someone throws it away or I never get my free coupon oh well it was free. It is not going to stop me from eating there again. I like the food to much.

Amen, I completely agree!!! :thumbsup2

I haven't even had a chance to go to KFC since I've been sick in bed all week. I'm certainly not going to drive to a KFC to fill out a form to get a free meal for the furture though. How silly does that sound? Why wouldn't they just put the form online? :confused3

Yes, really. I do understand it is free, but it is now costing me two round trips to our nearest KFC which is about 45 minutes away (in no traffic of course) and this is of course only IF they do turn in the coupon and I do get my raincheck. My *free* meal is no longer free.

It wasn't a well thought out promotion just like quizno's. I do understand atleast KFC is trying to fix it but it just isn't working for me. This is me personally! I am not going to hold it against anyone who wants to eat there! I am just NOT going to drive that far 2x hoping for 1 free meal.

I think anyone who offers up a promotion on Oprah better be ready for something big! Of course it doesn't help that these coupons are posted all over the internet and being sold. I won't hold that part against KFC either but clearly the way it was handled to begin with did not sit well with me.

I'll just make my own grilled chicken. This is America and thankfully we all can disagree! It would be a pretty boring world if we all agreed! I am thankful to be an American!

You would have had to go to the restaurant to get the food. It makes sense that they are offering a solution to those who actually show up to ue the coupon not just those who heard about it on the 'net.

I'm sure another reason they aren't offering it online is to cut down on the fraud fo people who are sitting at home with lots of copies of the coupons. They could just send out the form and the coupon to everyone they know. The point of the promo was to get people into KFC restaurants. Having it all online would defeat that purpose.

The fraud with this promo was rampant and I think that they are doing the best they can to honor the offer without alienating a large percentage of customers.

I was going to say the same thing...there are posters who would really not go to KFC because of this? They were giving FREE stuff away and people are mad because they didn't get their cut? Unreal....:sad2::rolleyes:

Right..I would drive there and get my actual meal. Not fill out a form and leave empty handed so I could go back in 6-8 weeks to redeem it.

Offering the "raincheck" online would still get people into KFC to redeem it.

Sounds like a bit of a "bait and switch" tactic to get you in there and spend your own money while filling out the "raincheck".

Now what would be superior customer service on their part would be to allow you to use your coupon for a 2 piece meal of choice at this point and then offer the option of filling out the raincheck for the grilled chicken.
