Free! HOP on POP 2009 FD Fridge SWAP - 07/18/10 - 08/13/2010 Avail!

Hi Everyone!

We had a fabulous time on our Disney trip! I did get all the slips taped on that Julie sent down for the fridge & box. As she mentioned, we did get a little different & bigger fridge than was planned. They were out of the one that we were planning & it was either bigger or MUCH smaller! The red tape should make it super easy to spot the box...I hope! I called Trish a couple times & didn't get an answer, but I left her messages, so I hope all is going well for her. Let me try & break down the financial end of this:

$196.66 grocery total
22.00 delivery fee
+ 41.34 tip

total = $260 what I paid WeGoShop

- $30 ($22 for my groceries + $8 for tax & tip)

swap total = $230

Julie sent me $175.32 ($169.94 after PayPal fee).

Over budget = $60.06

I maybe tipped on the high end, but I think 18-20% is pretty customary & she was delivery in the pouring rain, so I went ahead and gave her a nice even $260 for the whole order.

I hope everyone has as great of time as we did! I'm a bit jealous of those going during free dining...lol...that might have to be my "next" trip to the World! There's so many fun places to dine in WDW!

Geri

Geri,
Glad your vacation went well! Hopefully the pouring rain didn't take too much away from your trip? I will PM you about the financial end of things. Can you let us know what frigde (Brand/size/color, etc) we did end up with so I can link a picture if possible? I can't remember if it was you or Trish that was going to take a picture of the fridge/box to post?

Thanks,
Julie Marie

I know this is now a free swap. However, I would be willing to chip in some more money to help offset the higher cost. PM me if you would like me to do this.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I didn't even think of that. It is a black GE fridge; size is either 4.3 or 4.5 cu. ft. I used the red tape to put the information on all 4 sides of the box & the swapper info. on the side of the fridge itself. The toaster & supplies are all packaged in the box as well. I would guess that the tape would be the first supply that would need to be replaced. I used quite a bit to close up the box & still didn't feel like it was very secure, but I thought it wasn't traveling too far, so hopefully it will be ok. It's not a full box, instead the bottom has a piece of styrofoam & comes off completely. I did package it as the bottom, but when I was all done, I thought it probably would have worked better to use it as the top of the box..... lessening the chance of the fridge breaking through the bottom. Anyway, future swappers may need to bring a roll of tape with them, but other than that, I think things should be set for quite a while. It really made things nice to have the fridge. We generally ate breakfast in the room, so it was great to have milk ready for our cereal. I hope everyone has a fantastic time at Disney!

Thanks for the update/details. Trish may take pictures for us, I think we discussed it when she was going to be our first swapper, not sure if she'll remember. I'm glad we got the toaster too and that everything fits inside the fridge, so only 1 box to keep track of.

Update: We are actually only $45 dollars over budget now but I can live with that if I need to. If anyone has questions on the over-budget, just PM me!

Remember the new dis rules state:

No money may be collected to start or continue a swap. Swapped fridges must be available for free to all participants or the swap will not be permitted on the DIS.

Don't want to do anything to get closed down!

Hi Everyone! Me again! That link that Julie put on of the fridge looks like the fridge that was delivered. Not positive if it was the exact fridge, but it sure does look like it! I wish I would have looked closer at the box to see if it was a 4.5 or 4.3 cu. ft. in size.

Update: Thanks to those who helped me adjust the figures, We are actually now only about $30 dollars over budget now. If anyone has questions, just PM me!

July will be here before you know it. How are plans coming for our July swappers? Are you remembering to make contact with your before and after swappers to confirm plans?

Hi: We would like to be added to the list for backup on a fridge for Sept 26-30th - we are actually arriving on the 25th, but I see someone already has that date. If you could do this for us it would be appreciated.

Just back from our trip and the fridge was a godsend. I got to Pop on 6/3 and my hubby and I picked it up from luggage services with no problems. We took it back last night and I called Tracy to let her know that it was there and that I left an envelope at the front desk with her claim ticket in it. Hope her pick up was as easy as ours.

The toaster was a very nice surprise and came in handy.

Our trip was great. Looking forward to the end of Jan, beginning of Feb for another with just my DD.

Thanks everyone. :wizard:

Trish,
Thanks so much for the update. Glad everything went well! Did you by chance take any pictures of the fridge/box?

No, I'm sorry. I didn't even think about it.

It was black and quite big.

Just wanted to add that the picture of the fridge in the link to Walmart is the exact same fridge that we got. :thumbsup2

anyone know how the swap is going? Haven't heard much lately.

I'm assuming no news is good news! Val will check in when she gets back I'm sure. She did say she would take a picture of the fridge/box so that should help future swappers if luggage services can't find it.

PM sent requesting Dec. 12-19 :goodvibes

I'm so glad this is available!!!!!!!!!:cool1:
