Just got back a half hour ago. The fridge was great. The box was a little wet when we picked it up. We tried to tape the edges along the bottom to reinforce it to try to keep it lasting a bit longer. The little freezer didn't want to defrost fast enough for us to dry it out before boxing it up. Since it was so hot we just set it outside the door for 30 min while we were packing. It defrosted quickly and we were able to dry it out good before boxing it up. They had no trouble locating it for me when we got to the hotel and brought it up to my room in less than half an hour. I took pictures and will try to download them from my camera this weekend so they can be posted.

Yay! Glad most everything went well. Tip for future swappers, you might try taking a hair dryer to the freezer section to help it defrost faster. That's what we do at home

All Right!! I'm so excited to hear from someone while they are there! Glad to hear that most all is well and that the supplies are being used. I just read through a few of the other swaps to get ideas on what might be needed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will all still be there when we arrive in Sept. I really do appreciate everyone taking care of everything so far! I take it the toaster is working out fine? Just let us know if anything goes missing or needs to be restocked.

I've got 6 more days at home then after that won't have internet access. I don't have details for my fridge drop off yet. Have PM'd but nothing back so far! HELP!!! If I don't get details in time I will try and get access when I'm away but if not what do I do???

I can only imagine how excited I'll be the day before our trip. I can tell you I probably will be too busy packing and repacking and arguing with my husband about what I don't need to pack to post here! Have fun everyone! Wishing you lots of pixie dust and Disney magic on your trip!

I didn't take a pic of the fridge but its in excellent condition. Still looks brand new and came in so handy. The staff at luggage services was wonderful!!


ETA: The box was a little mushy when we received the fridge. I'm assuming because the freezer part gets alot of ice around it. We defrosted it and dried it out with a towel. The box may need to be reinforced again though within the next few swaps.

Glad it worked out well for you. As for the box, what do we need to reinforce it? Just more duct tape? Or do we need some fresh cardboard, or something else? I know some fridges are stored without the box, but I'd like to keep it in the box if possible. Of course, I haven't seen the box

Probably a little of both. The bottom of the box starting skirting out from the condensation so if we can get an extra box that would be great...and some tape always helps but I did note that luggage service was very careful with the box in my prescence...can't comment how careful they were with it when I left.

I think I might burst before I get the chance to pick up the fridge!!!

I read somewhere about tipping luggage services when you pick up and drop off - tipping is so different in the states to the UK - how much would you/did you tip? Don't want to be mean, nor do I want them to think I'm the most generous person in the world - lol!!

Will try and get a look at this thread whilst I'm away incase the gap gets filled, if not I'll check fridge in for the next on the list.
