Free! HOP on POP 2009 FD Fridge SWAP - 07/18/10 - 08/13/2010 Avail!

OMG I'm UP NEXT :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I read somewhere about tipping luggage services when you pick up and drop off - tipping is so different in the states to the UK - how much would you/did you tip? Don't want to be mean, nor do I want them to think I'm the most generous person in the world - lol!!

I don't know what others tip, but I've read that people often tip luggage services $1 per bag. Since it is a fridge, and probably a bit heavy, many people might tip a bit more, I'd say $2 just for the fridge, definetly no more than $5, but I'm curious to see what other people think.

Cheers!!! 2 sleeps!!! Woo hoo! And we are staying at a hotel at the airport tomorrow so that's when the holiday starts in my eyes!!! yeay!!

Have everyone's details.

I just e-mailed that I would like the fridge Dec 6-12. Thank you!

I have it Dec. 12-19, so the fridge will not be in storage for very long! Hopefully, we can do a face to face swap on the 12th!! If so, we can just wheel it to my room and then you won't have to defrost it :)

We're back!! The fridge was such a wonderful thing to have. It's in excellent condition, but the box is in pretty rough shape. Just from being previously wet like has been mentioned. It's being held together by tape (but we didn't have any). We asked the luggage claim staff to retape it and they said they would. The staff there was fantastic about the fridge and all too. However, they said they don't give claim tickets. My husband brought the fridge down there this morning and came back without one saying they told him they don't give them. I didn't believe him and went down asking myself but was told the same thing. After apologizing to my husband :lovestruc we headed on the road for home.
All of Mo's information was on there and it was defrosted last night and cleaned out with the handy wipes that were left in it.

Thanks so much for organizing this!!!

The box is in pretty rough shape...

Miss Mo,

Can you give us an idea of how big the box is/needs to be. I know you were going to try to check in briefly while down there. Let us know if luggage services was able to retape the box with any success...

Any one driving down that might be able to fit an empty box in their vehicle?
I will PM bkhuntman who is up next to advise he might want to bring some duct tape. If all else fails, they will store the fridge without a box, but I would think the box keeps the fridge in good shape.

Glad it all worked out for you. Lot of previous posters on this swap and others have gotten claim tickets, sometimes they have to be insistent, but we know they do give them out. Thanks for making a 2nd attempt. I'm sure it will be fine.

I was able to get a claim ticket....the guy didn't seem happy about giving it to me but he did. I guess it depends who you get.

Finally got my fridge pictures downloaded from my camera and uploaded to photobucket. Only to find someone is more efficient than me. I do have a picture of the box. Just in case luggage services can't find it everyone will know what the box looks like.

Thanks soo much! I have copied the photos to post 6 on page 1 as well. Love the lime green on the box :)

Just a quick FYI - duct tape does not really work on cardboard. Packing tape would probably be a better fix.... maybe get some big garbage bags to line the box in the future?

I will put trash bags and packing tape on my 'what to pack' list to try and patch up the box a little.

Can't believe I'm next on the list...wahoo just 3 more weeks

Sounds like you got it under control! Thanks for keeping tabs on things. Hope all is going well!!

Thank you and looking forward to it! We be a blessing with a 4yr and 2 yr old and their juice and milk!
