Free Food Offered By All-Star Sports Guest!

I honestly didn't pay much attention when I was at the All-Star Sports food area but are there a multitude of signs (possibly in several languages) alerting guests that the trays are to be kept in the food area and are not to be brought to the rooms at any point?
There are no signs and it is common and acceptable practice to take trays to the rooms.

It is not common and acceptable to leave said trays full of food OUTSIDE the rooms!lol:)

Thank you for that information.

Def. agree on not leaving trays outside the rooms. I personally wouldn't do that myself and I would even have some iffyness about doing that for room service places even though I know that's expected.

I assume there's several types of people who do that: A) assume as they've been conditioned for the most part trays go outside the room {and not necessarily considering outside is open to well..the outside lol} B) don't want the leftover food in their room thus they put it somewhere outside their room C) don't know that they should or it doesn't occur to them to put the food in their own trashcans (though I know not all would fit size-wise) in their room or take it back to the food court or find a trash can elswhere

Same goes for pizza boxes only take out the conditioned that trays go outside the room aspect.

Either way I personally wouldn't want to walk by food left outside rooms (this goes for outdoor and indoor entrances but that's just me) so I get the ick factor of seeing it just chillin' out in the open.

Yep. When we've stayed at values/mods and took food back to the room, we tossed our plates in the room trash and left the tray on the table. It was gone when we came back to the room at the end of the next day, so I assume housekeeping returned it to its proper place. We've never had a meal with that much leftover, though... I might go looking for an outdoor can or take the tray & trash back to the food court myself if I did.

We bring back trays of food from the foodcourt to our value/moderate room all the time. It would never occur to me to leave it outside by my door. I find it easier just to bring the remains back to the foodcourt when I'm done.

I have seen a few people leave their food trays outside their door. I've also seen maids walk right by them and ignore them.

Question: so does housekeeping or whoever is ultimately responsible for these types of situations patrol so to speak more frequently at the resorts that have outdoor entrances in comparison to those who have indoor entrances?
I feel it’s the “guests” responsibility to dispose of appropriately and not leave it outside for someone else to do. To add food patrols for the pigs who can’t walk to a garbage can will just result in higher room cost for us. And I don’t think there are many who do this. During our 10 day stay we never saw any trash left outside persons room.

My comment about DDP had nothing to do with the fact that these guests are pigs and left that food strewn outside rather than take to a trashcan. It has to do with the DDP causing folks to feel compelled to order food whether they are hungry or not, just because they have credits to use up .... then don't eat the food because they aren't hungry or not their tasting. We have talked for years here about how wasteful the DDP plan actually is, and sadly when you add folks who are rude and litter ... which this is, it's not pretty.

When people pay outright cash for meals they tend to be more reserved in their ordering and make more of an effort to actually eat it.
I see your point. We stopped getting the DDP years ago, just too much food, and it stopped being the deal it once was. We always had snack credits left over and on our last day ended up with a dozen Mickey rice crispy heads and candy, what ever we could pack to bring home.

Well I don't think I would make a judgement call and say everyone is a 'pig'.

Further on in comments I mentioned that there are likely several types of people--not everyone is a 'pig' as you would describe.

But to the point of not many people doing it well then there's your answer--I guess it's not enough of an issue then at least to Disney's eye otherwise they likely would put it as a higher priority to rectify the issue quicker and more efficiently than letting a tray sit there for 2 days (as other poster mentioned).

Looks like a "Free Meal"! No, I wouldn't expect anyone to eat what's on the trays but what's stopping someone from taking it back to the food court and returning it stating "This is horrible, can I get something else?" it wouldn't be hard since they left their receipt on the tray.

Uh ohh! Now you’ve done it! I can already see the flames from here!
