Hi,
I have been checking deals on renting a minivan to drive from PA to FL for almost 2 months. Alamo is the only rental place that I can find to get a free extra driver and unlimited mileage, by using a Walmart or Vacation Outlet code.

Other people who post seem to really favor National. Every code, ID, coupon combination that I have tried with National doesn't even get me close to the rate that I have with Alamo (over $150 difference). And I can't find a way to get unlimited mileage or free extra driver with National.

Am I missing something? Doing something wrong?

Or is Alamo just a better option for me because of the distance involved?

Any help would be most appreciated!!!

Thanks,
crhis

We always rent from Budget and your spouse is allowed as an extra driver for free. I believe your spouse is supposed to show their license when renting, but I always try to and they tell me I dont have to. As for the unlimited mileage, do most rental cars have a limit on your mileage anymore? I didnt think so, but I could be wrong.

I have seen from National and Enterprise (I'm not sure about the others) say that the first 1200 miles are free, but then there is x amount charged for each mile after that. Alamo had unlimited mileage.
