Free Disney Ticket Promo is Back!

Well since there's a few that mentioned doing it last year... I'm sure it's legit. I wouldn't worry to much about what rolly said about this year.

Go for it if you can do it.

If you are going for several days. Have one person use the one day tickets, then buy multi day tickets for the others. You would save more money that way. Since you can't use the ticket for upgrading. So instead of chipping a few dollars off a 5 days ticket for each person in your party, you'd save the cost of one adult ticket for five days.

Comp tickets can be used for child or adult. No difference. So if you have to buy additional tickets, buy tickets for the kids and that'll save you an extra 10 bucks or so.

It's a legitimate charity. Mary Waring (Foodlover) has this deal posted on Mousesavers.com, too.

Don't think anyone was disputing that this was a legitimate charity.

But as Chesire pointed out this is not a great deal.

$750.00 donation gets you

10 10 1 day tickets
$120 GC Planet Hollywood & the Sammy Duvall discounts of which I have no interest at all.

If you buy you own tickets

1 10 day $243
2 5 day $221.50 each or $443

It is a great charity and if we were going within the next year I might consider the $150 donation but anything other than that level is just not worth the exchange unless you were planning on giving money to this charity anyway.

You're basing your numbers on 1 or 2 people needing 5- or 10-day passes. The people who will find this to be a valuable offer would be those who had intended to purchase 1- or 2-day passes. Those passes are never discounted normally.

For anyone worried that this deal is legit, I was one of the people who donated last year. It was a different promotion. I think I paid around $60 per ticket last year but they were delivered almost immediately and worked fine when we went in April of 2008. I never thought to look this year as we only wanted one day tickets again (we had a couple leftover parkhoppers for us but nothing for the three kids).

You also get a nice booklet about the Children's Hospital, a thank you letter and a good feeling about helping out while enjoying all the fun of Disney!

Thank you for letting me know about this. My dh and I were just talking today about getting his parents 1 day passes for Christmas. This way we can save a little bit of money (doing the $150 way) plus we can feel good too! To me it's a win win situation. :)

Rolly, something tells me that you are affiliated with this fundraiser. You joined DIs boards 2 days ago, posted a bunch of answers to other unrelated threads (to look legit) in quick succession, then posted that you bought tickets for the Foundation, and after that asked if there was a Disney Children's hospital. If you'd already bought tickets through this fundraiser last year, I think you already knew that there was a disney children's hospital. I smell a troll.

The Fundraiser is probably a great cause, but a troll is a troll is a troll. I hate bait and hooks.

What are you an Angela Lansbury wanna be? I'm sorry if I wanted to let people know about this opportunity! When I got these tickets last year, I was donating to the Florida Children's hospital. This year the site said that it benefits Walt Disney Pavilion. How was I supposed to know that they were the same hospital?

After doing some (real) research, I found that they are one in the same hospital. See article (http://www.floridahospitalmedicalne...n-at-Florida-Hospital-for-Children-id287.html).

My wife and i spent over a month in a children's hospital when we had our daughter, so you'd better believe that i will support anything that helps these types of organizations. If you're saying that I'm affiliated with the fundraiser...you bet I am...I just DONATED! That's my affiliation...I'm a grateful father who wants to make sure that other families are treated just as well as we were! I have no ties to this organization, but I do want to help them get the word out!

Sorry to everyone else that reads this post...I couldn't let someone get away with questioning my motives.

Thanks MinnieForMe for chiming in.

Folks...please don't feel like you have to take my word for the legimitacy of this program. In this day and age i don't blame you for thinking twice. You can verify for yourself by visiting the hospital's website at www.floridahospitalfoundation.org or calling their number listed on the site. I simply wanted to let you all know about the program.

Hope you all enjoy your time at Disney regardless of how you get your tickets.

I guess the key question is why do you use one day tickets. That is the most expensive way to go. Check Post #18 of the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, or click on the link in my signature to get to that thread.

I alwas value your advice and information on these boards, but I am at a loss here. Yes, its the most expensive way to go if yo are going multiple days. We are only going to the parks for 2 days.......the other 2 days are MNSSHP which does not play into this.

5 people going to DHS one day
5 people going to AK the next day - 1 person has free birthday admission

Why would we buy multi-day tickets? This is cheaper than buying a 2 day MYW ticket for each person from Disney.

Is there some other cheaper way we have of going that Im not realizing? Because this is the best deal I've come across by far.

We havent been since 2004. I bought multi-day tix them because I knew we were going to all 4 parks. Although we are planning on going next May, I havent even started planning that trip yet. So much could change betwee now and then. I won't call it a "for sure" thing until January when I am able to pay for it. Also, my budget does not allow for me to invest hundreds of dollars in tickes that I may or may not get to use (multi-day, non expiration tix). Thats why this sounds like such a good deal to me.

I made the donation 4 days ago and still no tickets. It does say allow 5 to 7 days but I'm getting scared as every day goes by. When you make the donatin off the site it just thanks for making a difference and no reference to when your gift will be delivered. It works great for my family who will only be there 2 days besides MNSSHP. I'll let you know when I get them. Thanks Rolly for letting me know about it.:cutie:

Sorry that I didn't post it sooner. My doorbell rang approx 30 minutes after posting my "concerned" message. I was doing the happy dance. It is a win win situation for us. I feel really good about it.

Unless the birthday person has a multi-day ticket already, then they would not get a free admission or any of the other birthday offers. That is what Cheshire Figment was telling you.

Untrue.

The offer from Disney is free admission on your birthday whether you already have a ticket or not. However, if you already have an AP or multiday pass that you are using for admission, then you can take advantage of the other offers. If you do not have an AP or a multiday pass, you can only get the free one-day admission.

For those of you who have made a donation and gotten tickets/coupons, can the Planet Hollywood gift certificate be used at any location or only the one in Orlando?

This may be a dumb question, but I have heard of folks using a discounted ticket, going through the turnstiles and then heading over to guest services to upgrade. Since they validated the ticket, they get full retail credit for their original purchase price. Would this not apply because the ticket was free?

Nevermind...see that it says it is good for "Planet Hollywood Orlando"

We received the tickets and are here - they work great. HOWEVER, we received $120 gift certificates (6 - $20) with our donation BUT you can only use one per check!!!! AND they are only good at Orlando. Basically you can get $20 off of 6 visits - they should've worded that much better. I still feel good about giving to the money to charity for the tickets than just to Disney - they get soooo much of my money every year.
