im travelling to disney world 23rd sept for 2 weeks, and have taken advantage of the free dining plan offer. Usually i just make a couple of ADR's in advance, and book others whilst in orlando or just walk up.

do you think this will be ok ths year? or with the free UK dining offer do you think i should book all meals?

would recomend you adr,we did free ddp last year and booked well in advance. When we got there most places were turnning away walk ups some places were getting full when we adr`d end of may for aug

I'm going in August with free dining and have booked all 12 of my ADR's. If the free dining is extended to US visitors too you would probably struggle to get a TS. If I were you I would do a rough plan and book ADR's accordingly remember you can always cancel them. JMO :thumbsup2:

We are doing 1 Breakfast (our first day so we will be up early any way) and the rest are a combination of lunches and Dinners, we are also doing two 2 credit meals. Here are what we're doing:

Akershus 8.30am
Crystal Palace 5pm
Spoodles 5.50pm
Hoop de doo 5pm
CRT 12.05pm
Mama Melrose with FP 4pm
Garden Grill 5pm
Coral Reef 5.30pm
O'Hana 6.20pm
Le Cellier 12pm
Chef Mickey for DH & DD's, me to Kona for DIS meet.
Also want Teppanyaki but not booking yet!

As you can see it's varied with some Character meals and a show. I have 2 DD's aged 8 & 10 so that dictates what where we go. Have you looked at the dining boards? The Dining reports are also good too especially the ones with photos (be warned TR's are very addictive ) Also remember everyone's tastes are different, you can also find all the menus at allearsnet and here at wdwinfo.

Good luck, the planning is actually half the fun. :thumbsup2:

def book ADR's :thumbsup2 we do a mix of character and dinner meals but we book each one( and stick to them )

:offtopic: How did you get free dining? I'm sorry if it's been asked before, but i know the US visitors were waiting for an announcement if it was on this year and didn't realise UK was being offered it. I know it's not really relevant for me as we're there in April, but just wondered where it was advertised/ available from.

it was a special offer running last year. if you booked a disney holiday with the ultimate ticket through selected tour operators in september or october you received free dining plan for the length of your stay. i booked through airtours, though the same offer was also available through travel city direct, virgin, thomas cook and first choice. :)

the last 2 years when it was offered to the us market it was on 1st of april, first to disney card holders then after 2 days to general public. We did it for 2 weeks last august on this offer you had to buy at least 1 days base ticket for each person in party.Had to do it as 2 bockings as you could only book for 10 days
We were planning on booking it last year on the english offer for this year but as we were about to do it FIL died.We are all still going in august but we are waiting until aprill just in case it comes out,if not we will just book our stay.Would check out the DDP part of disboards becasuse as soon as it comes avalable that board will go balistic
