Free Disney Dining Plan -- 2008

I had heard that they started offering this already to visitors who were just in WDW. Can ANYONE book? Or is it ONLY open to September 2007 visitors?
Can I book right now for Sept and get the FREE DINING? AND what are the dates for the 08 Free Dining?
We are looking to go to WDW in Sept 08 and would LOVE to go when this is happening.
Anyone have any info on this?
AND my husband wants to know what the "catch" is?!?!

You have to be currently checked in at a Disney resort in order to book this package.

There is a whole thread somewhere on here about it. We booked it last saturday while we were at CBR. You have to be currently staying at any resort to book for next year. (as the PP said)
If you won't be at Disney this September you can book it in April (if they offer it) like they have done the past couple years.

I just returned home from CBR on Tuesday, the pamphlet states I can book until Sept 28th, only if I had a current reservation just recently, they will ask for your name and reservation number and you must book for that exact name.

The only catch is that if you do get the free dining, you cannot have discounts on the room, too. You have to pay the rack rate. You also have to purchase a MYW ticket for each person on the plan, at least 1 day. Free dining is offered during hurricane season. We did book this package back in June for this year and will be there on Sat. One thing we found with the free dining and the DDP in general was the total planning of your trip that ends up revolving on the table service reservations. Those are all I can think of. We did receive a great deal and are staying at a Value Resort for the week with 8 day park hopper passes for 591pp. Good luck in them offering the free dining again. This year it was offered late spring and it had to be booked by June 24 just to let you know.

When and IF there is a free dining promotion available to the general public, that information can be found:

. . . in newspaper advertising
. . . in television adverstising
. . . on numerous other Disney-devoted website
. . . from any Travel Agent
. . . via your dentist's cousin's sister-in-law's mailman's uncle's granddaughter's teacher's neighbor's roofer

Leslie the answer is it depends.

If they offer it
and IF your resort has availability
and IF the offer is not sold out at your resort,
then generally yes
