Just wondering if anyone knows anything about availability for value resorts at the start of free dining (Aug. 26). I called and was told that only mods and up were still open, but I looked online and it showed POP for the dates I wanted. CBR will cost me an extra $400, is it really worth the extra money? I have stayed at ASMo and at CSR so I do know that the rooms are a bit different. The plan for this trip is to relax and hang out so we would only get the required 1 day pass for the dining package. DH loves the waterparks so we would also do at least 1 day there.

Help please!!!!! What should I do? All advice wanted.

BTW, it will be DH, DD8, DD17 and myself.

When you are checking on-line for your room are you doing it in the free dining package offer? If you just check for rooms they are available at the value resorts but not with the free dining offer.

I looked in the reservation box on the main page.

I'm sure I already know the answer to this but are all available rooms offered for free dining or is it only so many per night?

There are only a set amount of rooms available with the free dining offer in each resort. I'd keep calling back to check on availability if I were you. Initially I was only able to get the free dining from 8/26 - 8/31 even tho I wanted right up to 9/3. Then a week later I called to check and was able to extend right to 9/3. Personally I prefer a moderate to the value and would pay the $400 more, but that's just my preference. I like the theming of the moderates better and I'm sure my kids would tell you that having a pool slide is worth it :lmao:

That is exactly what I thought. I guess I was hoping to hear something different.

I would prefer to stay at a mod but this is my second trip this year and the only way DH will go for it is if I make everything as cheap as possible. I agree that the waterslides are a great bonus but I some how can't justify it. If we can't get into a value then I think he's still OK with it but that $400 might mean driving instead of flying. Driving means a slightly shorter stay.

Has anyone called daily until they got what they wanted? Would I be a pest if I did it?

Yep, I've called daily to get what I want! Pest or not, I didn't care! The other thing that you could do is get Dreams Unlimited to see if they can get what you want. Sometimes, they seem to have the 'magic' touch!

Is there a fee to go through Dreams Unlimited?

I just booked POFQ and I think that with the four of us going this time the extra space in the room will be nice but I'm still thinking I'd rather have the extra money to spend on something else.

If you aren't doing alot of park time then a split stay isn't that bad - if you are there to do parks then I found it was a royal pain!!

Now I'm signing off to leave for the airport where we will fly out tomorrow morning to go to ASMu!! :dance3:

One of the values has their pool closed for refurb during the free dining time - you might want to check before you book. Especially with a relax-by-the-pool vacation - that would be a big dissappointment. I'm sure someone could help over at the Resorts board. HTH!
You will find that dates for all the hotels will begin opening up as people who initially made reservations drop out or change hotels. So call often! You aren't a pest you're a guest!

Dreams Unlimited????? anyone?

I discovered today that I can get ASMu for the first 4 nights. Who has done a split stay? Is it a pain to move?

No fee to use Dreams Unlimited. They'll get what they can, and get a complimentary hold, until you tell them to GO or not.

I'm staying at ASMu, and I'm quite excited about the whole thing. Only 90d:22h:29m:5s until our 08:30PM arrival at Disneyworld on 08/16/2007.

I am booked at POR for 26/8-3/9 and I was thinking of switching resorts so I called yesterday and was told there is nothing at any value or CSR , and WL only had the more expensive rooms but she did say to check daily because there are many people that have courtesy holds (2 weeks) that expire if they don't call back to put a deposit down. The holds would expire at midnight so you should call as soon as they are open in the morning. One other thing....don't leave it too long to book your ADRs because there is not alot of availability for the more popular places and some not at all.
