Free dining without going to parks? (Yes, I know you need a ticket... read on)

I know you need to purchase tickets with the free dining plan, but I'm throwing out a question that I haven't gotten a definite answer to...

Can we get the free dining plan with the purchase of water park/ Disney Quest tickets instead of the usual theme park tickets... at least in some way (ap's for the water parks, two single day tickets to either, etc.?)

OR

Can we get the free dining plan with the 2-day theme park tickets (whether we use them this trip or save them for another), but for additional entertainment purposes, can we upgrade unused 1-day theme park base tickets (from a past free dining experience) to be Disney water park / Disney Quest APs? (I'd ask about "upgrading" the 2-day tickets to WP/DQ AP's, but I believe that would be a value loss as 2-day tickets are more expensive than APs for WP/DQ... which still boggles my mind!)

I'm just trying to look at more economical options for a trip after our APs have expired (and we won't be back at a time to renew them) :sad1: ...but at the same time, we're hoping to experience new things :thumbsup2 since we've taken several trips to the theme parks in the last year, but have never experienced the water parks and only tried Disney Quest once (and the kids have never been there).

I don't think so; I believe that park tickets can be upgraded to APs, and water park tickets can be upgraded to water park APs, but I don't think you can upgrade one to the other.

Perhaps CheshireFigment will enter this thread to answer the second question.

Can't you renew your AP's online? I don't think you have to be physically in the park to renew AP's.
