Free Dining?!? When Does It Usually Start? Any News On This Year?

FREE DINING?!? WHEN DOES IT USUALLY START? ANY NEWS ON THIS YEAR? IS IT BETTER TO BOOK NOW AND THEN CHANGE TO THAT PLAN SO YOU ALREADY HAVE A RESERVATION? We took our children with us last year and loved the free dinig on our first trip to the world, I am wanting to surprise them this year? I am thinking it was mid August thur the end of September. Thanks for all your thoughtful input!

The Free Dining package came out April 1st last year to Visa card members and then came out around April 15th for the general public. When I was on the phone with CRO yesterday they say no information has been given to them as of yet whether they will offer the same deal this year or not. I soooo hope we get Free Dining again this year!

Neither did we from Chase. The only place I heard about it was here on the DISboards. I was lucky enough to be logged on when it was announced here.

I thought the offer came out to the general public on April 4... just a few days after it was made available to the Disney VISA cardholders.

It was on the 4th because that is when I made my reservation last year. This year I am poised and ready with my Disney VISA card in hand to get an earlier date, if offered!

Yes, it was the 4th, because I did not have a visa, and made mine on the 6th, a few days after the promo had been out. I remember hoping things were still left!

Although I have never had the opportunity to use the free dining deal myself as we are DVC members, my brother joined us on a trip in 05. He stayed at the All Stars and got the free dining.

HotMama: I know I read it here on the Dis but I know it was advertised on the DisneyWorld site as well. That is where I read the "official" information to my brother from. He does not own a computer so did not know anything about it.

I believe AAA offered the Dining Plan, as well as Disney. It isn't clear how that affected the discount you were offered though AAA though. You could NOT get the AAA discount through Disney and get free dining.

There were no blackout periods.

It could very possibly be a big savings depending on the ages of your children and your dining habits. I have 3 teenage sons so for us, Free Dining through the Bounceback promo was a better deal than the 40% off code that Disney emailed me.

yes you can use it Labor Day weekend. That is when we went last year and after Monday the parks were very nice and uncrowded. i like your name Kayleebug, as my DD is named Kaylee, which is the cutest name IMO.
