I was just curious how fast the hotels fill up during FD ? I am a Canadian resident and not eligible for the DV so I guess I have to wait til March 30th to book. Do you think there will be any chance to be able to book Sept 23-29th or in the past have dates been all snatched up by the DV holders before the sale to the general public ?
Also, is it best to actually call in and book with an agent or are you able to book online ? Either way it seems that it will be very busy to do so - will I seriously be waiting on the hold for 2 hours ? And they don't have a toll free number

?
Wow ! I'm excited though if the offer does come out
Hotels do NOT totally fill up.
Certain room preferences and views fill up.
There will be rooms available until the sale ends, especially if they open more up due to interest.
What DOES happen is that popular resorts and room views fill up first.
So, standard a Pop, or wooded view at WL might be gone early.
Poly Lagoon view. You get the drift.
IF you are flexible about your resort and view, you will be fine.
Have a 2nd. and 3rd. choice. But you most likely will get your first choice, unless it is a VERY poplular one.
You might be on hold two hours. It does happen. No longer a toll free #.
(we used to cheat and do a TA one, but they don't let you use that one anymore. They closed it down. Sigh.)
We go back to school August 10. Most schools in the Southeast go back by mid-August. We have taken our kids out of school for
free dining in the past and we will probably do it again this year. There will literally be thousands of school age children there during the free dining promo mid through late September.
Yeah, but it's still not so busy. We homeschool, so we can vacation when the prices are good.

Biggest field trip we take all year! LOL
I meant that the room is the 82.00 rate.....
the price on Disney.com.
What do you suggest to not miss the free dining?
I also only need 1 day ticket for the deal since I am an AP holder.
Your rate would be the same online or on the phone or with a TA.
That is the rate for that time of year. No need to "lock it in."
If you book a package, you can modify it to include free dining.
This depends upon there being availability of the room you have booked.
You may have to have a second choice ready.
The package you book before the sale comes out does not have to have dining in it to do so, but packages automatically contain tickets, whichever length you request.
do I pay for the whole package now or just the deposit of one night?
I assume I can book this 1 day 1 park tickets online?[I am an AP holder]
thanks for all the help!!
Book a PACKAGE with the tickets, don't buy a single day ticket by itself!!!
You'll be stuck buying ANOTHER one day with your package.
HI, I've got another question about the DP - I'm sure it's been answered before but here goes.
If we stay at Disney for 7 days, but only buy park tickets for 3 days (all as part of the package), will we get free food for just the 3 days we are in the parks, or for all 7 days (I'm assuming there is food offered in the hotels).
Your dining goes by the number of NIGHTS that you stay.
So, if you book 7 NIGHTS (NOT days), you get 7 TS, 7 CS, and 7 snacks.
If you have more days than nights, you go by the nights. Plan accordingly.
You may have any number of days of tickets you desire, it does not affect dining.
You may also eat at any of the resorts, not just your own.
Value resorts do not have a TS (sit down) restaurant.
Park restaurants require park admission, so plan accordingly.
Dining reservations (ADRs) are HIGHLY recommended, and I would say REQUIRED, in advance of arriving, especially during free dining.
Do not think you will be able to walk up to restaurants.
Please make ADRs before you go. You are able to do so 90 days before arrival.
Happy Planning!
Of course, some more questions.
How do DV holders get notified?
When notification comes out-do we book that day or are we given specific days to book?
Since it is my friend and I going to I need any specific information about her other than name and address?
This is all very exciting, but a tad stressful too!
DV just get advanced notice, usually, and can book any time during the sale.
You need to have name and address for everyone in your party.
Whew. It will be easier to book and get this overwith than to keep sitting here stressing!
