Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

So, cool. Have you noticed that the Airlines fees are dropping for the same time?

69$ Airtran? :woohoo: Oh yes I did, after someone here mentioned them. As soon as I find out about my job tomorrow, I'm booking the airline. Immediately.

Apparently Southwest is also going to start flying out of Logan, which should drop prices for me a little more maybe.. but I don't know if I want to wait for that... especially if we're going for free dining, another few dollars on getting airfare early is worth it. I have a feeling the CMs are going to get annoyed with me calling a lot asking to see if we have pin codes....

Question - I have a disney visa. When they release the pin for the visa holders first, how are you notified? Through email or mail?

Was there any news on the FD? Did they announce anything? I hadn't heard...My DH and I both have seperate disney visa accounts and haven't been notified about it :(

I'd love
to know the same thing. I've had my Disney Visa since 2003 and haven't ever been notified about free dining. How do you find out?:confused3 :confused3

No idea :( Random sampling for PINs, I get them for DLR but never WDW. Spoke to 2 CMs today, chandler and leah, and they said it hasnt been announced and if it is offered they'll announce it in the spring. So nothing I didn't already know. Oh well. What can you do.

I've always found out from the Dis first.:worship: Never has disney visa rewards sent me anything about the free dining or anything else.

i have the Disney Visa too. And think I once got an email from Chase about this promotion.

Nonetheless, unlike the PIN stuff being discussed, when free dining has been announced in the past ALL Disney Visa holders get first crack at the promo and everyone else gets second crack.

So dont bother looking for emails from Chase or Disney... just watch these boards. You will learn who, what, where and when about the FD promo as soon as it comes out.

That said, can someone confirm that a 3 day package was the minimum stay for this promo in the past?

It appears we have to go to FLA the week after Labor Day for family obligation so might as well stop by the Mouse! Does anyone know which hotels tend to book up first for the FD plan? I would like to stay at the Contemporary and this might be the time to do it. Luv that monorail!

Thanks,
Melissa

I spoke to a CM yesterday. She said we have pin codes attached to our name, and that they should be coming out any time now.
ATTENTION: I could barely hear the CM. She was either holding the phone wrong, or having some other phone problems. (I was in a quiet room with perfect signal and full battery.) I am ASSUMING that is what I heard, and it certainly sounded like that. I asked her a second time to confirm and she said it was correct, so sounds like they will be here any day/hour now.
She verified my email address, and said to watch it closely. It could be any time now.:thumbsup2

My guess would be POP first, AS Movies second, AKL third, and everything else after that. But thats JMHO.

Does anyone know--if you have a disney visa and the free dining is offered to them first--do you have to use the disney visa to pay? My dh's cc has trip cancelation insurance on it so we were hoping to use that card. THanks for any help.

I BELIEVE that you have to put at least the deposit down using the Disney Visa.
I have always just used my Dis Visa for the whole thing, because I like the 0% for six months plus the Dis $, but I remember a discussion about this.
The whole point in giving you advanced notice is to get you to use your Disney Visa.

for the past 3 Disney Visa Free Dining promos I booked early using my disney visa but paid the balance with another non disney card

call 407-560-CHAT (2428) and ask.... it might take a couple tries.

For you to be on this list, do you have to have your reservations already, or from just staying on property before?? I don't have ressies yet, but I'm planning on December again this year... I had free dining last Dec, so I don't know if I'm lucky to get it two years in a row!!

I've called twice to tweak my reservation and have been told both times that the dining promotion will be offered to the general public.

With Disney stock at a 52 week low, don't you think they'll be trying to bring in more people with the promo? I was just surprised by the confidence in both their voices that it was NOT going to be offered. If its not offered we won't get to go :(

I am a Disney Visa holder. I haven't received any notice of the promo/pin/code yet. I did receive the 40% off pin from Disney, but we are holding out for free dining because we believe that will be a better deal since we usually stay in the value resorts.
Have any of you Disney Visa holders received notice of the promotion yet?
