Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Read all the way to page 13.

Amazed at the number of people who asked-- when will the deal be announced- or asked-- what are the dates of free dining.

(all of which are answered more then enought)

Do people not read all of the postings--- or just read the first one and post their questions?

Hey Woman... Fancy finding you here.

So I officially did not get my internship for school, which absolutely sucks money-wise, but at least I still have my first job. This also means that I can go to Disney during free dining, since my school doesn't start until Sept. 9th! Before that I was only able to go to Disney to the 27th at the latest.

So it's a bittersweet victory, but at least I get to eat for free! :rotfl2:

(La Cellier mousse, here I come!)

I firmly believe that most people are just lazy. Rather than taking the intiative and doing their own research, they would rather just post something to the effect of "I really don't have time to discover the answer for myself, so I think everyone here should just answer my questions."

I find it really frustrating and rude. BTJM.

Just wanted to quickly pop in to say I have been notified TWICE - once by my Disney travel agent, and once by the agency she works for (in their official email newsletter, no less!) that "rumor has it" that free dining is coming. My TA told me in a private email (but had asked me not to share at that time), but when the travel agency actually sent that info out to all their clients in their email newsletter, I'm figuring they must be pretty darn sure!!! She is going to call me as soon as it's "official". Woo!!!! :goodvibes

Great info! DH and I are planning a trip for 9/25 to 10/6 for our DD's 2nd birthday. My MIL, FIL, niece and nephew are planning to come as well. We are hoping for free dining. I do have the Disney Visa. So with all that info, how far back to they allow a bounceback? The last time we were there was May 2007, so almost 2 years (I know don't get me started, we had a baby and are hoping to get back on our yearly schedule:lmao: ) Should I try and ask for a bounceback if I book before FD is announced (if it is announced) or should I wait till it becomes available to me as a Disney Visa holder and/or the public?

Bounceback offers are ones that can only be booked while you are actually at wdw staying in a wdw resort.

So, when you go this fall, you are likely to have a bounceback offer that would allow you to book for next fall.

What they said.

Plus, I think people are misunderstanding what "bounceback" means.

You can get free dining without "bouncing back."

It's not an additional sale that you can get a pin for or anything like that.

Sometimes when you are on site, they will offer you a good deal if you commit to returning,
usually a year later, but sometimes within the same year.

You cannot claim it any other time, nor can you combine it with any other offer.
The only way(s) that anyone is going to get free dining for this fall without already having booked it last fall is:
1) Pin (which is a non-transferable coupon type code by mail or email),
2) General public sale, available to all customers, old and new, or
3) Disney visa advanced notice of the general public sale.

IF they offer a bounceback program for people staying this spring to come back in the fall,
it could be free dining, or it could be a discount off of a room.
There's no guarentee.

Hope that helps everyone! :wizard:

This is all great news! Hopefully we'll know something very soon! Can't wait to see the first leaked flyers/ads, etc.! This is exciting!!!!

I do not get why you would be "amazed" Or even bothered by people asking questions on a discussion board. I would think, that the people who are asking. Sincerely would like to know if there is any new, news. They are not looking to "amaze" or bother you. Nor, are they "lazy", like some other poster suggested. They just do not have the time to read through 30 something pages. Like other people do.

Back on topic. For those who probably did not hear.

I am very sure free dining will be offered. My girlfriend a Disney worker. Keeps me abreast. So, no need to worry. :thumbsup2

I just notice that the 4/3 deal has to be booked by March 29. do you think they will wait until the deadline is up for that special before they offer the free dining???
I'm really not concerned. we booked our trip already, its just nice to know for SURE.

:rolleyes1

I DO think that. It seems to be their usual way of doing things.
And, it makes sense, business wise.

Now, the question is whether they will open the new sale immediately after the old (i.e. March 30) , or let us sweat it out a week. :confused3

I just booked with a 40% off pin for CSR from 9/24-9/29...added the dining package..now I'm hoping that they offer free dining. The CM said that I could deduct the cost of the dining if/when it was offered..

That will give my DW a few more Disney Dollars to spend at the "Days of Christmas". :scared1:

So I never check my email, but I decided to do a search through and see if Disney had sent me anything cause I remember seeing something about Free Dining. Turns out they did send me a pin code offer on Feb 6, for Free Dining if I book a certain package. The package is 4 nights/5 day for $1284 at a Value Resort between 8/16 and 10/01.

I don't think we'll be able to use it since we are going in March and then again in July but does anyone know if the code expires at some point?

Wait.....
I don't understand..........
I didn't think that we could use both the 40% off AND free dining. I thought we had to pick either one or the other. I have a 40% off pin that Disney sent me via email. It expires on March 31. I have held on to it, but I didn't plan to use it since we normally stay at a value resort. In that case, free dining is the better deal. If I book with the 40% off pin and add dining, can I call back and get the free dining WITH the same 40% off rate?
I might be misunderstanding you. If so, I am sorry. I thought you were saying that you could get the 40% rate WITH free dining if it comes out.
If that is the case, I am calling to book it now!
