I am sure that this is a no brainer but I just want to make sure that I am doing the right math.

Rumor mill has it that free dining MIGHT be available when I go in November - if so, I currently have an AoA suite booked with dining with my annual pass.

If Free dining is available, and no discount for AP holders - to figure out if I would be saving any money - is to go to the website price out my dates with regular dining and 2 tickets and the price out the same dates with counter service and 2 tickets and the difference would be what I would have to add to a room reservation, correct?

I don't know why you would be comparing the regular plan to the quick service plan. With free dining, just price the rack rate of the room + a 2 day ticket and that's what a free dining offer would cost you. Compare that with your AP room rate + dining plan.

I wanted to upgrade from qs that is offered with AoA to Regular Dining

Yes. If you want the regular DDP at AoA, that is how you will find the free dining price.

Rack rate for room + 2 day base tickets for each person + $18(ish) per adult per night/$3 per night per child (for dining upgrade) = your cost.

To compare the price I would:
-price out AOA with room & 2 day tickets. (no dining since its free)

Then add in the difference in the cost between qs dining plan & cs dining plan.
If you are going at a regular time (not peak time) the difference is:
$18.01 per adult per night
$2.84 per child per night
