I can't remember where I saw it but I thought someone had posted a worksheet of sorts to see if a code or free dining would be better money wise?

Does anyone know where to find it or have it.

I don't have it but I can give you our situation.
We are staying at the Poly 9/22-9/27. This trip is just for myself and DH. We originally booked a 6 day 5 night stay with Park Hopper option. The original cost was $2486. I received a 20% discount PIN. That saved us almost $400.00.
We then decided since we have the drop to go ahead and upgrade to the dining plan and our complete package has dropped by $14 to $2472. So it is pretty much a wash.

Hope this helps.

So for you the 20% is a better savings, because to take the free dining you wuld need to pay rack for your room.

We have 3A and 2C, staying in the cabins with a AAA rate saving about $420.
I'm hoping for a better room discount than AAA. We really don't do any sit down meals and some CS. I just can't decide if I should take the free dining, assuming it's available to us, and use if for what we have planned, Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace as well as some lunches and snacks or take the AAA discount and hope for something more? Plus we buy tickets from Ticketmania with Mousesavers discount. If I take free dining I need to get at least one day ticket there.

I guess I'm not sure where to take the discount and there is a lot of what if's involved. I'll look Monday. I just remember seeing someone who had a spreadsheet comparing discounts and free dining and resort level, with people in your party. Maybe it was on the budget board?

Thank you that's it.

Of course now the rumor is that free dining will end Sept20, before we arrive, so hopefully something else comes for us at the end of Sept
