free dining question

Hello, I've stated before in a previous thread that we are first timers here. I am using a family friend's DVC points. I hate that I am unable to call with questions as they will only speak to the DVC member so I am super thankful for all the support I've gotten here. So my new question is I see that our dates fall under the free dining offer. Would we be eligible for free dining? We are staying at Old Key West 9/18-9/24. I have not added my park tickets on yet bc truthfully I was going to purchase them through Undercover Tourist to save some money. But I would absolutely purchase them through Disney if that qualified us for the free dining. Does anyone know?? Thanks so much!!

We wish we were eligible for free dining. However, I much rather have a discounted room for length of our contract.

Ya, I figured it was a long shot but I had to ask. I'm a single Mom so I have been saving every single penny to afford this trip. We paid for the points and it was definitely a savings but I'm still spending close to $6,000 on this trip so0o0o0o0o I just had to ask. I apologize if it came off in a wrong way. Thanks for all the info though guys!! I truly appreciate it

If you are buying the Dining Plan, look into buying discounted gift cards for Disney at wholesale clubs or Target, and combining them on the Disney Gift Card website. Can save you 5-8%.

Or even if paying for restaurants out of pocket. Load up on discount gift cards, apply the balance to your room account, and charge meals back to your room. Every 5% savings counts. Think of it as one free meal out of every 20.

This helped with our recent resort day at the Oasis Bar at the Poly...... at least a little bit.
