free dining question

Yesterday I booked free dining for August /12. Since we have been there several times before I knew we wanted the quick service plan so I booked all star music. We really would like to try a moderate though. Am I able to book a moderate and still get quick service or do I have to take the DDP if I stay at moderate.

They will not downgrade free DDP to QSDP, even on request.

You can upgrade your free dining plan, but you can't downgrade it. If you transfer to a moderate you'll get regular dining.

You can *buy* a QS plan, even while staying in the moderate. *If* free dining becomes available for your dates, then it's strictly DDP for mods. (Unless things change).

To follow on, in theory you could exchange your TS credits on DDP to CS credits at your resort desk, and then essentially you have QSDP anyway (as DDP now gets the resort mug and QSDP is being dropped to 1 snack/night).

However, if you want to stay in a moderate but get QSDP, you may want to see if another discount (like a % off room rate) might be available and a better fit than free dining, and then add QSDP on top of that.

We are also booked for FD in August/12 and are staying at POR. We prefer the mods to the values. That said, we have already agreed that we will be using many of our TS credits as QS. However, we liked the idea that because we have the DDP we do still have the option to do a few table services during the trip!

does anyone know how many snacks they will give you for a ts meal?

I don't even know that you can get snacks for a TS meal.

You can get anywhere from one to three snacks for a CS meal at most resort CS restaurants.

You may or may not be able to trade meal credits for snacks at restaurants in the parks. I understand Main Street Bakery will do it but others might not. Stores and shops will not do it. And I'm not sure they will allow trade of a TS credit.
