I am from the UK but waiting for the release of free DDP in the US (in the next few weeks), for the budget resorts in August . Has anyone from the UK tried booking in this way before? There is a very long thread on the main Disney site for this. However I don't quite know whether we can successfully do this from the uk.:confused3
And which telephone numbers to use. Any help would be great. We did not book last Autumn from the UK offer, as the resorts available were only the moderate and above.

When its released you should be able to book online or ring the reservations number But have you priced up with Disney.co.uk?

I believe they have priced the dining plan into the US resort prices already so not really getting it free.
For eg All star Music 6th-20th August on Disney.com room only is $1,432 (£1,015)
On Disney.co.uk if you do a package to include DDP £997 (Hotel £520, Quick service DDP £477) you would have to include 14 day tickets at £211 each so it depends if you are wanting tickets or not.

All depends what offers they give on .com, how many in your group, what dates etc but the basic room is very expensive on .com at £72.50/night

Thank you Wayneg, I have just realised Disney UK is so much cheaper. Your so right, after phoning WDW direct it came out £3715 for tickets and hotel, while in the uk it was £2128.I can not believe that.No such thing as a free lunch!

Well there is but you missed it. Last year Disney.co.uk had a great offer on OKW or SSR for this summer. We went for OKW, 16 nights with free DDP, £1,456, then had to buy tix, upgraded to 21 day tix X 3, total package £2,164 for 3 of us. Now the offer is over it would be over £4,000, or to book with Disney.com over £6,000. I think we might have a few free lunches in that deal:goodvibes

Well done. I was in a dilema back in October and thought I would gamble and wait for the US discount next month, in the hope that they would offer the free DDP to budget resorts. Yep this time the gamble did not pay off. But even if we have to stay off site we still get some Disney magic.
Thank you for taking the time to help me out.:)

I think the UK prices for this year were set when still had an exchange rate of £1/$2 now that it has dropped it makes our prices look great :)

I am waiting to see what happens to them for next year now but I am expecting a large jump unfortunatly :sad2:
