I got an email today that includes a PIN for free dining through December 24th. Did I win the Disney lottery or is this a common offer?

What are the eligible dates, so I can be on the lookout for it?

There was a Free Dining Past October 2nd Watch thread, that the new free dining info was combined with. This way the watchers and the 'receivers' have all of their info in one common place for reference.

As the moderators find out more about the current offer, we'll update the first post. This way nobody has to sift through pages of chatter to find out what's what.

Thanks so much,you mention that it was busy in Dec of 2009 due 2 the FD promotion would you say it is more busy than FD in the Fall(Sept) or less?

I've gone during fd in the fall and last year in Dec. My Dec trip was the best trip I've had so far. It was so peaceful and less stressful than my trips in late August. The weather was wonderful and the crowds were very manageable. We rode EE in AK 6 times in one day without needing a fastpass. I can only assume that it got busier as the month went on. We went during the first week of Dec.

Subbing! We're booked Nov27-Dec7 at POR and will go regardless but free dining would be a substantial savings for my family of 5. Crossing my fingers for the general public FD extension or one of those coveted PIN CODES.

We are booked from Oct 25 to Nov 5 at the CSR. We've already added Deluxe Dining - would you say our chances are about NIL in receiving a PIN because of that, or is it really random?

Just curious as I assumed we would NOT receive one, but have noticed it 'seems' some people here are already booked as well and are hopeful a PIN maybe come through to their E-mail.

We are considering going to WDW in late October with friends.(MNSSHP ) Is there any chance that WDW could extend free dining. I know that free dining lasted through December last year, but I cannot remember if dates after Sept/Early Oct were added later in the year. Thanks!

There is always a chance. But not something I would count on.

Disney has said they plan to stop deep discounting. That also noted that this summer's Free DP is less extensive than last year's offer showing they are progressing to thier plan of limiting offers.

No way to know yet. Will depend on how much they think they will need it to fill rooms and on how it did filling rooms for them last year.

They really didn't extend the free dining offer last year - they added a new offer. That offer opened for booking on July 24th.

We just received a pin code for select times in Oct/Nov/Dec for 40% off resort rates accross the board including value resorts. A 40% discount on a value is unheard of. Pin codes come before public discounts come along.

Anyway, based on this e-mail I don't think Disney is reaching the expectations on room capacity that they want. There's a deal out there, already; so, it may be hopeful that free dining will be extended. Many larger families love the free dining plan; so, it could happen. Please note, when they extended free DP last year you only got the QS plan for a value resort. You could upgrade to the regular plan at about $10/person.

Good to know that 40% pin codes are coming out too. Looks like it'll be a combo of free dining/40% discounts for the end of the year. In the next two months or so there should be an announcement for the public if they are going to open it up for everyone (free dining)

They only announced free dining for the general public that included December in 2009. It was never done before that.

Before that you had to either receive a PIN code or be a Disney Visa cardholder.

In 2009 the offer that included December was released on July 24. There's no way to even guess if there will be a public free dining offer that includes December 2010.
