I was reading on another web site that the free dining is only offered with a value resort booking...does anyone know if this is correct? I thought last year you could stay at any resort and still get the dining package.
Perhaps what they meant was that the best value was at the value resorts. The way my math goes, you actually MAKE money on the deal there. ($78 per night, right? But you get the equivalent of $100 off for the dining plan, if you have two adults and two children in the room....)
We recieved an email from our Disney Visa Card and it says free Disney dining for select Value Resorts. Someone may have updated information but we got this 2 days ago.
It should be for all resorts, but I think the price that is listed in the offer was for a value resort, obviously mod/deluxe resorts would be more than the price given.

Rack rate for the POP is $79 + tax which for two rooms is $176.18. We have two rooms for 10 nights for a total hotel cost of $1,761.80. The cost of the DINING plan IF we were paying for the Dining Plan for our 10 nights would be $2,094 for our trip. Once we factor in the cost of the one day tickets, we are dead even.
So Disney is paying for part of our admission NEXT year when we stay offsite at our timeshare.
This is the absolute cheapest trip to Disney EVER for us! I didn't care what value resort we booked until I found out that the tax rate is a shade lower at POP.
