Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Finally done with my CM. She was great and after 30 minutes on the phone with her, she did mention that there is no news on a GP release for Aug. 1 but from her understanding it is coming. Then added really quick that DV members will get it first to check back often, even daily and have a magical day. And hung up before I could respond.

I do find this a little funny. We all thought we had things all figured out and that we could finally finalize our fall/holiday plans and now...we just keep waiting ...and calling...and stalking the boards.

Just makes the anticipation that more fun!

Remember everyone Black said Aug 1st. And think about it, the current offer hasn't expired yet, won't until July 31, so why would a new start now.

Is it possible because of this rumor, so many people booked and Disney no longer saw a reason to offer FD?

I am thankful for all the info that is posted, I have learned so much from these boards and others like it. Although it didn't work out today, my CM, like many others, told me to check back soon! So that's exciting. Either way I'm going to Disney in 95 days and the FD would be nice, but at this point just added Disney magic for us! Thanks for all the input/feedback that everyone posts.

I joked with my CM about rumors sometimes being just rumors. She said its more like a leak of information on something coming VERY soon and recommended I try again soon and keep checking.

I have a friend who is a travel agent. Of course she cannot release any information but on the same day this thread started, she texted me that there may be something good coming my way. I previously told her that I want free dining and the days I am going and not to tell me anything if it wasn't what I wanted. I say that since she told me that, it's for sure going to happen. It's only a matter of time now. Thanks Black for your info. You and my travel agent friend can't both be wrong!

No worries, the majority of us are very glad for the leaks even if speculated.

While yes I am a tad disappointed it didn't go live today, I have every confidence that it will go live. A CM told me after my last "do I have a pin" call that a new offer should be released early Aug. I am also very grateful for the rumors that are posted here. It helps me keep from fretting...somewhat.

Me too!!! I still believe Black and Dave know what they are talking about and we will see the dscts on Thursday!
I think they are always VERY clear to not do anything, change any plans until it is live.

I agree, what someone said is clearly ridiculous,, but lets not go to the opposite extreme and say they shouldn't be going if they can't afford it without a discount.

extreme??? so its ok for people to be planning a vacation for thousands of dollars to expect a discount and cry foul when a rumor falls through and blame people for giving them this information. you should never plan any kind of trip with the sole hope of receiving a discount so you can afford to go. wow...

No it's not. Everyone was planning vacations around this offer, taking off work, saving money and now their dreams have been shut down. It was so bad that even Disney knew and prepared the CM's. It wasn't just a small rumor. Even Travel Agents thought the rumor was real.

And though from a reliable source, like everyone else said...he never said it would be released today...he just "thouht" it might be if following past patterns. And you know. It seems like Disney was prepared for this, so they might've decided to through us for a loop and change the days. NEVER plan your vacation around an offer until it actually comes out. You can hope and book, but be prepared to pay full price and hope you get some pixie dust with an offer.

I'm very grateful for any of the leaks aka "rumors" that are posted and I am grateful to those who post them. I was waiting till Aug 1st anyways, but I'm very disappointed that you DV holders didn't get the deal to go live today. I was on here to share your excitement and instead I am sharing your disappointment.

Until I have FD booked, I know it's all just rumor and have been warned of that over and over. We have our trip booked already, but we were going either way. FD is the difference for us between eating in the room a lot and instead being more free with food choices.

I do have to admit that I'm freaking out a little bit now that maybe FD isn't going to happen, so I'm back to worrying. But I'll just have to wait and see Thursday morning what happens. I'm putting trust in the Aug 1st rumor and hoping for pixie dust for all of us!

Moreover, the Armed Forces salute for FY14 came out last week as well, and military fams have been burning up the phones to book rooms at its discounted rates...which is also taking rooms out of inventory...

Finally booked my reservation for November! No, I did not get the FD as I had hoped but I will keep trying. Huge thanks to all who continuously search out all this info to make my trip better-I really appreciate it!

I have lost hope. Not flaming anyone, because no one ever claimed to be 100% sure. But I will just watch and see if it cones out rather than believing information that may or may not be true.

I will definitely check back on August 1st. And I definitely do not blame Joe in this at all, there is still a great chance for it to be offered, and like others said he just speculated that DV holders would get the offer first because of previous history. A lot of CM's are saying to keep checking back, so that sounds hopeful!

Or maybe it WAS planned to drop today, but Disney got a lot of bookings because of the rumor and felt they don't need to offer FD as originally planned. In that case, there will probably be a lot of cancellations and then Disney will change their mind again!

Either way, let's not give up hope, let's keep checking and hoping for some pixie dust!

Yes seriously. To some people going to Disney is a once in a lifetime thing and it is a dream. They shouldn't have relied on this rumors but they did. It is sad. I feel really bad for those people.

noting was promised... maybe you need to ignore the rumors if you aren't happy if they don't come true. it is a risk we all take by reading these boards. CM's are right, we shouldn't believe everything we read on social media. But I can tell you that Danny and Black have had pretty solid tips in the past. I am not giving up yet. Black said 8/1... we all assumed that disney visa would be sooner.

Just appalled at some of the responses on this board this morning this is a non official forum nothing more. Its all good when these rumors are right and praise is passed around but as soon as one of the rumors is not true you are ready to crucify someone for being wrong. Is all fun when you can get a jump on the rest of the world due to one of these rumors being true but it fell through this time and someone said people should be punished for starting these rumors& WoW! If you are that dependent upon a discount maybe should not be going!!!

I agree with you . If going depends solely on an offer then suzi orman would deny you . I appreciate blacks efforts to keep us as up to date as possible . He's not God he's a good soul that try's to help. ANYONE I have seen downing him should shut up and not read the boards if your so close minded to people just trying to help. Things do not always work out the way we want. Its also possible that they changed their minds about the offer. Never plan on anything if its a rumor!

I added 2 hours to my 12 hour work day to check this out, but I knew going in it was possible it wouldn't be true.

As a side note, does WDW always ask you if you have a ressie before anything else? I found it odd that my CM's first question was if I had an existing reservation......

Maybe they are trying to see how many people are adding FD versus how many are making a new reservation because FD was rumored to be offered....
