Finally done with my CM. She was great and after 30 minutes on the phone with her, she did mention that there is no news on a GP release for Aug. 1 but from her understanding it is coming. Then added really quick that DV members will get it first to check back often, even daily and have a magical day. And hung up before I could respond.

That's encouraging ......I hope she's right and DV holders get a bit of a headstart!

Moreover, the Armed Forces salute for FY14 came out last week as well, and military fams have been burning up the phones to book rooms at its discounted rates...which is also taking rooms out of inventory...

Even Danny wasn't 100% accurate with the last leak, stating that AOA LM would be included, when it wasn't there was ALOT of back lash on these boards and he has laid low since.

We all need to remember that Joe, Danny, and the others are trying to be helpful and while we are all disappointed they were very clear that these were rumors and not to change travel plans or buy airline tickets until it was actually released by Disney as things could change.

What I love is when certain people post these rumors, it's taken as gospel. "Oh, you have to believe them. They're right every time. They're never wrong. You can count on everything they say. They never have misinformation. We love them and believe every single word they say!"

So everybody listens to them, makes plans, counts on the discounts mentioned. Then they don't have the right info. "Well, you can't blame them. They don't always get it right. They're doing their best. You can't count on what you read here. You're wrong for listening to them. It's all just rumor. Who knows what will really happen?"

Really if you don't have faith that the rumors are true then don't read them. Black says all the time that the info he is given is not set in stone and Disney can always change. It is just a hint to have you in the know if it does go to promotion.... and most of the time... it does. Black said 8/1 for the new promotion. We assumed that Disney Visa would be a few days prior. I know this was disappointing... i am disappointed too but Keep your fingers crossed and have faith that Disney will show us all some magic soon.

This may have been the actual dates--two weeks ago, but Disney can change things at any moment. Maybe bookings started going up; maybe they decided to wait till the info was in from their big upcoming financial meeting; the industry is not static, it ebbs and flows and changes are made accordingly. Still very possible for Thursday, but who knows, could have been moved to next week. Several sources had this same information, not just one. Keep the faith!

I'm just hoping that those that had been waiting to book for the FD release don't jump the gun and book and them decide that rooms are full and they don't need to release any offers.

Looks like disney is one step ahead!!! They knew about the leaks and prepared all CMs. I wouldn't be surprised if they scaled back on what they were gonna offer. No matter how u look at it disney is in business to make $$$$$!!!!

I am thankful to Black and all those that answer questions and share their knowledge here. He was upfront in saying this was not official until it Disney released it. I am happy to see that MOST people get that. Cheers everyone

Things do not always work out the way we want. Its also possible that they changed their minds about the offer. Never plan on anything if its a rumor!

I added 2 hours to my 12 hour work day to check this out, but I knew going in it was possible it wouldn't be true.

As a side note, does WDW always ask you if you have a ressie before anything else? I found it odd that my CM's first question was if I had an existing reservation......

Maybe they are trying to see how many people are adding FD versus how many are making a new reservation because FD was rumored to be offered....

You have a point: I have 5 trips in the works over the next year (I plan al my siblings and friends trips) not once have I been asked if I already have a ressie; until today. That was the first thing asked even after I gave my info to the automated system. They even asked that before my name come to think of it.

I am so sorry that so many didn't get what they were looking for this morning...especially the west coasters up at 4a.

But I'm sticking to my original post--the first of the two links above--as qualified by the second post....

I appreciate "all" the info you get out to us! I will be calling on Thursday, the 1st. The DV was always just historical spec!

Disney's BIGGEST disclaimer has always been "it is subject to change" This is also the reason that some travel agents / agency's (the one I use included) won't even speculate until it is live because Disney HAS changed things like release dates, dates of offer, etc.

If people booked solely based on this thread they shouldn't have if they couldn't afford to go or planned on going with or without a discount. The other side is that if many people booked because of this thread it could make some resorts not available if they are 80% full or just plain full.

I don't know what Disney's magic number is, I think it is 80%, but I do know that most hotels do not offer a discount when they are X% full because they don't need to

Well is it August 1st yet??????? I think they stated that Disney Visa holders MIGHT get an early start on booking but that it was slated for release on AUGUST 1st. They also said that people booking with anticipation of the release might change the offer all together......so to NOT book prior to the release. It takes rooms out of inventory and Disney checks and rechecks those numbers daily before releasing deals I'm sure.

I have lost hope. Not flaming anyone, because no one ever claimed to be 100% sure. But I will just watch and see if it cones out rather than believing information that may or may not be true.

There is no one to blame. Why do we need to blame?

Black has been very clear that no one should change plans until it's official.

But there is a token "this is not official until Disney releases it" disclaimer, and then there is daily updates and flame fanning. Words like "CONFIRMED" sound pretty official to the uninitiated. I'm still hoping that maybe something will come out on August 1st for all the families who were/are looking!
