I just got through. The CM told me he was aware of the rumors and that began reading a note for Disney that basically said there is NOT a FD promotion.

Good god.....

No it's not. Everyone was planning vacations around this offer, taking off work, saving money and now their dreams have been shut down. It was so bad that even Disney knew and prepared the CM's. It wasn't just a small rumor. Even Travel Agents thought the rumor was real.

The people who post this information have always been upfront with disclaimers.....they state that it's not written in stone, don't change flights...etc. Tons of people booked because of the rumor and that could have changed a lot of the dates or even the release date/offer if Disney saw an influx of new bookings.....then they can decide they don't need to offer any more incentives to fill up rooms.

They had it on their page???? eek. They could get in big trouble for that one. No agency can post that stuff on FB pages without an official release. oops.

You have a right to be upset but I don't think something should happen to people who posted about this. If it were Disney employees then, yes, we'd all want restitution. These are mere mortals- who made the disclaimer "Do not book until the deal is confirmed."

I'm thoroughly disappointed but I'm not mad at anyone. It's the Internet. Anyone can post anything (though I know these people aren't just posting info willy-nilly. They want to help as best they can...I'm holding out hope for August 1st now).

It was all speculation on the Disney Visa - it was a gamble - better a possible chance to get it than no chance at all IMO.

I for one thank everyone who tries to help people on these boards get deals. If they weren't here no of us would know a thing.

Why should they get in trouble? They are nice enough to let everyone know when these offers are about to come available.
The rumor was for August 1st, we all speculated DV members would get it today.

I appreciate the people who put out the info, and will be calling August 1st.

In all fairness, their prediction was that it would go live August 1. The pattern often is that Disney Visa holders get a head start the prior Monday and all the DV holders hoped that would hold true this time. That aside, it is only a prediction. They don't gain anything by gathering the information and passing it along. I'm upset that it didn't happen this morning too but no need to get out the pitchforks....

Let's keep in mind that the rumor is for Aug 1. We were assuming DV would drop today.

Anyone can start a rumor, its doesnt make it true. We all know unless it comes from Disney it can not be believe. Its possible the offer will go live just as the OP stated. He said it was likely, not a SURE thing.
