Last year for my sons 3rd birthday we did Animal Kingdom Lodge with Deluxe Dining and while the hotel was beautiful and the meals were awesome, we were almost never at the hotel (except to sleep and a few hours at the pool one day) and we were sorry we did so many table service meals (even though the food was great and the character meals were a hit) because each meal was extremely filling (so much so that half the time when it was time to go to our next ressie we weren't even hungry) and also TS meals take longer (you have to wait to be seated, wait for the waiter to take your order, wait for the food) and therefore that means less park time. We actually felt like we were in restaurants more then we were out in the parks. Also remember, with table service meals, the meal may be free but Tips are NOT included and therefore thats more money out of your pocket. This year we are doing a MOD resort with regular dining and we will still have table service meals but mostly in the mornings (and we are trying large breakfast's and Lunch/Dinner combined with snacks to keep us satisfied). Also, with Deluxe dining we found ourselves in the Animal Kingdom Lodge gift shop grabbing whatever was approved on the dining plan in order to use the rest of our credits on the last day. Incase you didn't know, Children under 4 receive free meals.
