Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

The only thing holding me back from getting the Disney Visa is the annual fee. Right now I have a bank debit card and an Amazon visa. Neither have fees. I don't think I would save enough with the DV to get my annual fee back. Any experience? Thoughts?

Only the premier DV has a fee. The regular DV doesn't have one. :thumbsup2

Does it have to be at the 200 pricepoint? Like, could I call today and pay 100, and since they will then have my DV card in their file monday it'll be valid? Or you have to pay 200? (Not that paying 200 is an issue haha, I just am curious on how it works :)

I guess you could, but unless your account cycle closes in the next couple of days, a charge today and a charge on Monday would be on the same credit card statement anyway. I would just wait until Monday. :goodvibes

This is true but I upgraded to the premier and WOW have I noticed how much quicker I am earning those $$$. We received one of the $100 offers to upgrade so we did.....

Since we've been talking about the Disney Visa, they have a limited time reward for MHPtickets for $51, they are currently $59, for these select dates with advance purchase on your DV:
September 27, October 1,4,8,15,21,23,28.
We are going on Sept 24 and just missed this offer.

Never mind, it's for Disneyland. But if you're going there, that is a good deal!!!

It is for MHP at DL, not MNSSHP. They never offer a Visa discount for MNSSHP. Only MHP. Not sure why.

Thanks! I will have to read it again!! (I did read it twice, lol) but it has been one of those days...started off with 1 year old's door knob breaking and could not get him out!!!

I just reread the DV limited time offer. It is for the MNSSHP, but it's for the one at Disneyland, not Disney World.

We have friends joining us half way through our trip and then they are staying longer once we leave. Can I book both of our rooms on my DV even though our dates are different? And do we need to be at the same resort?

You can try, but typically they want you at the same resort and linked together.

ARGH my TA is insisting that all payments must be made on the Disney visa in order to get a Disney visa discount!!!! Any suggestions???

She is WRONG. It is only $200 that needs to be made on the DV. I'll se if I can find a website that will give her more info she can read about booking with a DV. I'll post whatever I find in this thread.

Thank you! I've questioned her at least three times about it and she is insistant that all payments must be made on the Disney card.

I am also going to have to find a link with the 60 day check in cause she is insisting its 10...unless we're locked into 10 because we bookes before it changed to 60 days...

Should have booked it myself!!! But we're traveling with other families and its there first time..m

One more quick question, Planning on booking a split stay under the DV offer. I understand I have to charge $200 on my visa for the FD part, but if there is a room only discount for my first 3 nights how much do I have to charge on my DV for that stay? Hoping to stay at CBR preferred room but I really don't want to have to charge $400 on my visa since I already have gift cards to pay the trip. Thanks.

For the RO you will need to pay for the first night.

Reading all these TA stories has made me so glad I did it all myself. My Mom had been the person planning before and used a TA. I was never impressed. Our flight times were horrible, she was wrong about so much etc. and she was a Disney TA supposedly. So when we'd started planning our trip with just DH and myself, I knew I wanted full control. And that looks to have been a great decision as waiting and trying to get someone else to do something would have killed me.

So do many more rooms get released when FD is released to the public vs when only select people received these codes?

I happened to be a qualifying name on a PIN that my mother received for these dates. I wanted a moderate for late October and only CS and CBR were available. POFQ and POR were not and I've called a few times since the initial booking and still no luck.

Would this mean the same for anyone hoping to get FD for those same dates at POR or POFQ or do they open more rooms up when FD is released to the public? If so, would it be worth my while to try to call to try to get my first choice once the offer is released?

I'm in the exact same situation and am really hoping more rooms open up at POR or POFQ when this goes public because I'd love to switch! (Currently booked at CSR)

I just tried a mock booking for my 3 nights and it doesn't appear I will save any money doing this with a split stay. I already have an 8 day park hopper tickets for the first stay which we will only need to pay out $20 per ticket to upgrade the extra days. So to have to purchase new park tickets at nearly $200 each will be more expensive than the savings FD gives me.

I then checked on the current price the USA site is showing for a moderate resort for 3 nights which is $712 for my dates. If the RO discount ends up being 20% off then I would be able to book the ro for $570 However I just checked the uk site for the same 3 dates at the same hotel and it is coming up to $535 not even on sale. Unless they reduce the RO for moderate resorts then I will not save either way!

Thanks for your advice to do the numbers. I got carried away thinking I would definitely save but looks like I wont. I will go ahead and book my 3 days now to make sure I get the resort I really want before all the rooms get booked up with the fd and ro discounts
