Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 2

OK, I just looked at POR has room for family of 5 from Nov 1st-8th.

When I was on the phone with the CM, he said the problem is including that weekend Nov 9-11. Since Monday is Veterans day, they are blocking that weekend.

If you take out the weekend dates, it's avaliable

We should check the fine print. Can they do that? If your check-in date falls under the free dining and your checkout does not they are still supposed to give you free dining for your stay (up to 14 nights or something like that) so how can they get away with blocking a weekend if it's in the middle of your FD stay?

This offer is valid for arrivals most nights:

•September 29 to October 2, 2013
•October 18 to November 2, 2013
•November 11 to November 23, 2013
•December 12 to December 22, 2013

No where can I find anything that says Nov 9-11 are excluded days.

That is who I use as well. Still no official word from my TA but MDE shows my new reservation. I will say today has been a rare, why do I use a travel agent day, but things seem to have worked out. Hope things get done for you too

Morning craziness for me too. Waited on hold for over 2 hours. I wasn't able to get free dining for my orginal reservation at POR, so changed to CB. Its worth it to get free dining though. It is still a mystery to me though why there were no rooms available at POR on the first day of the promotion, something doesn't seem quite right with that. I had free dining last year in the fall and booked it at POFQ a month after free dining came out with no problem. I don't know whats going on this year, I quess it could be all the pin codes that were sent out that made the difference. I'm still going to keep checking to see if anything opens up at POR.

Same here! POFQ over a month after the promotion started and no problem getting it.
We were on the phones right when they opened today since I discovered it went up online during the night and seemed like there was no availability. Got though after about 10 minutes. POR nothing but able to get CSR.
I am still wondering what will happen when all of us cancel our previous reservations in the next week.

I was able to modify my reservation this morning from LM AofA to Pop and it is saving us over $500.

I would not have known about the discount or when to call if it wasn't for this thread. Thanks SO much!!

Keep in mind the DIS is a relatively small portion of Disney guests. You'll be fine!

I don't think you should worry. Remember free dining is only for people staying onsite. Crowds should be very manageable.

Thanks to Disboards and all those involved in giving us the heads up on the fd offer. Again the Disboards rock!!!

And thanks to all those who were posting their long waits this morning. It was comforting knowing I wasn't the only one with a long wait.

In looking at my confirmation email, I noticed I have table service for Music, so I'm thinking that is the extra $200 that the cm quoted me. I'll wait until tomorrow and call and get it straight.

But between fd and $59 flights, this is turning into a special 30th anniversary trip come November.

Anyone else still waiting for their TA to get through?? This is pure madness!!! She has been on hold since 7am, and told that the site has gone down at least 3-4 times. Said she is back on hold again, the site is up, and I'm going to be the first person she books. This is simply killing me!!!


The other thing that is really bothering me, is my TA quoted me a price with FD back in June, and now shes quoting me again, and this new price is about $300 MORE than the quote back in June. Can anyone figure out why that would be????

When I tried to book FD for my entire stay (Oct 19-25) at the Poly it showed no availability (online). After playing around with the days I discovered that the problem wasn't with the entire stay -it was just Oct 24 & Oct 25 that were causing the problem. So, I went ahead and booked the FD offer for Oct 19-23. I still need Oct 24-25; which I have booked under my original non-discounted package reservation.

I didn't call this morning --- maybe I just need to call and have FD applied to my exisiting Oct 19-25 reservation??

Yes!!! Definitely call and stay at 1 hotel.....whichever shows availability that you're comfortable with!

Ah, the reason you've probably not heard from them is because they're quite a large travel agency. I imagine they've got a TON of other customers they're also trying to get this booked for. I'm sure once they get everyone's trips modified they'll start contacting people.

Maybe she meant they are "booked" or "full" or "all the free dining allocated rooms are booked" or something like that for that weekend. I can imagine that they would have fewer allocated FD rooms during an already busy weekend.

That's what I'm thinking too! I'm going Oct 19-26 and was thinking it would be somewhat slow. I know Disney World is never 'slow' but slower.

I got POR for 5, Nov 17-22. Had to take off Nov 16, but its ok since we are driving. I was booking online when the server went down. Called, only waited 5 mins, got the same cm as this morning (she remembered my kids names). I am so happy. And I think we will use the $300 we saved by taking off a day to do MVMCP. Persistence pays off...keep trying.

It really isn't a mystery. If they only offer the ROyal rooms that means family of 5 needs to upgrade to a deluxe. I'm sure this is part of disney's plan.

I'm in the same boat, waiting, waiting, waiting. And nothing! I'm getting so upset and anxious!
As far as the price incresae both rooms and tix have increased so I bet that's where it is. But it was my understanding that if the ressie was made before the increase you'd be all set.
