Yes, you used to get an appetizer, and tips were included, and you got the regular dining plan at all resorts, but the big change to me is that values were under $100 then! We paid $90 including tax at the end of August 4 years ago, this year we are paying $138/night with tax for Pop. Basically a 50% increase in 4 years, sure wish my income would go up that way

If we checked in Oct 31st for 7 nights, would we get free dining for all 7 nights bc we checked in when its free dining? Or do we just get it until Nov. 2nd?

I would so love to know this to. For some weird and odd reason every time I say and spell my last name the system doesn't recognize it(last name is in my screen name). I always wonder if it only recognizes names with 5 letters or less.

My last name is 3 letters and very common as a everyday word and it never understands it.

I cloth diapered my youngest. I used to so in love with the ones that were handmade by particular moms. The stalking was SO much fun. It was a thrill to be at the computer waiting to pounce. This does feel very similar. Wonder if it's releasing some kind of drug into our brain.

We've had a package booked since Feb for WL woods view for 10/19-10/26. But with all this FD and RO discount frenzy, I've had to ponder several things. I've checked with my family and my hubby does not want to change resorts with one small exception.

Yesterday I emailed my fabulous TA my list of instructions. It sounded sort of like when Sally (from When Harry met Sally) orders food.....here's what I sent her:

So, here's what's up......my husband would really rather not change resorts (with one exception, mentioned shortly).......so, I'm willing to take either FD or a room only discount for WL, whichever you can get. If you have to upgrade to courtyard view, still fine, still willing to take either FD or room only discount.
But - if you are unable to snag either deal for either of those room categories at WL, would you please check the Poly for us? That would be the only other resort we'd be interested in. If we can get into the Poly (standard room) with either FD or a room only discount of 30% or more we would be happy with that. However (oh look, another but!), we do not want to stay at the Poly unless there is FD or room only discount of 30% or more in play. According to my number crunching, anything less than 30% room only discount at Poly wouldn't be saving us anything over what we're already paying.
SO - if you cannot snag any sort of discount at WL, and you cannot snag either of the discounts mentioned above at Poly, we want to keep our full price WL woods view package as it currently is. After all, we're really fine with the price as it sits now, just any discount or FD would be gravy.

AND BLESS HER HEART , she answered that she understood me 100% and would do everything possible to get me the best deal within my request parameters! Thank goodness for TAs who love their jobs!! My destiny is in her hands and I am dealing with that. But I'll be on here first thing in the morning to check and see if everyone is getting their pixie dust and cheering you all on so that you can get the rooms you want.

And I also want to say that I've never really participated in forums before, and this sure is a great bunch of folks right here! I'm so glad I've joined in. Thanks so much for everyone's input!!

Had loads of fun on those boats. Back then it was a Character breakfast and Table Service dinner each day...it forced you up early in the morning and I made rope drop almost everyday. But we were always wore out by the day's end. I do prefer the counter service/table service option...but I sure do miss those boats everyday.

Oh, my tip for the phone is to say "Agent" as soon as you can. It gets my name right but everything else is a problem. So I quickly say Agent then you are holding for a CM.

Hi, thanks for all the great information. I have been keeping up since it was first leaked a few wks ago. I am booked with AAA (never again). My TA thinks I'm crazy because of all the FD talk. I called this morning & told her I would be up early in the morning & would call for new reservation (& asked about her cancellation policy) & then maybe she could take it over?? Well she was horrified that I would call on my own. Wanting to know where this info came from, etc... Stated she always knows a day ahead & knows nothing...
Well this afternoon I received an email stating she called disney & asked about FD. They didn't say officially yes or no, but she should call back tomorrow. So she said she took it as FD will be out tomorrow. I tried to tell her FYI- I'm still calling, she doesn't get into the office until after 8:15 .
