Sorry I know this is a FD thread- We may be staying at riverside this trip over FQ (if we can get FD) If we go my daughter has to know. Do they have cookie dough ice cream at riverside like they do at FQ (the hand scoop ic)? Also does the greater at riverside hand out coins like the greater at FQ? Thanks

I don't know about the ice cream, but on the topic of the coins - no. FQ has the madi gras theme, riverside does not. There are no coins or beads.

Depending on what dates you are looking for the Epcot Resorts book up due to F&W and the huge Garnier Symposium which runs mid Oct.

Our dates don't overlap any symposium or marathon so I guess I learned my lesson for next year
I assumed October was a slower month and I would have more options.

This year, moreso than any other, I would be on the phone as close to 7am as possible. They only hold a certain number of rooms per resort for each deal. This is the first time they have fully excluded resorts from an offer, so there may be even less allotted rooms than usual for the resorts that are included.

When might dates for February-march be up? I am doing princess half marathon and trying to hope by doing our vacation after the race we might be able to do free dining to cut costs.

Just gave my TA my request for upgrade options. I'm thinking it will be CBR and I'll miss out on POR, but who knows. I wanted FQ, but that's out with the exclusion.

I am so hoping I'm not disappointed with CBR. I've read/heard mixed reviews. Going with a positive attitude and not to high expectations.

we have and ADR Sunday night for Planet hollywood under the dining plan and an ADR Monday morning for Crystal Palace at 8. So I'll have to talk to them upon check in on Sunday how early they'll let me switch reservations so we can get to MK early enough. I also will have to figure out which other night I can get to PH and if there is an available ADR.

For anyone planning to book at POR, I heard thru the grapevine that they are going to drain the river for refurb and dig up all the landscaping to replace the dirt, just wanted to give everyone a heads up to book elsewhere tomorrow......LOOOOOOOOL, I'm just poking fun at us seagulls that are currently circling over POR like a turkey vulture over roadkill ;-)

Already having a reservation does not give you an advantage to getting the deal, other than saving the CM a couple of minutes, because they still have to try to apply the code pulling from the block of rooms set aside for the offer. Where are you booked currently?

I have lurked on these boards for years and have never been as excited for a thread as this one! So excited it has prompted me to post!

I have a travel agent that is very good and will be on the phone first thing tomorrow for me. I used a travel agent this time because there are eight of us going and I thought it would be easier for her to do all the changes. Plus I didn't want to have to get up at 4:00, although I doubt I will be able to sleep!

We are currently booked at POP and were going regardless of any discounts being offered. (this trip has been in the works for over a year!) Now that there is a possibility that we can upgrade to Port Orleans Riverside and stay on budget, I am beyond excited! This trip is for my 50th birthday and the fact all three of my adult sons are able to go is amazing. If I get Riverside, this will be one of the most perfect birthday trips ever!

Thanks to all that have provided valuable information that has helped me be specific with what I want to my travel agent. You all are GREAT!!!

You guys are owing it up. Posts are coming at a crazy rate! I see alot of the same question being asked every 2 pages of so, might want to read back at least a few pages to see if your question has been addressed!

My brain is smoking from all this ......I'll be glad when I can take this off my mental calendar....

So I can start worrying about other important things., like Wishes Dessert party reservations......
And trying to snag a lat minute BOG...
And trying to get California Grill when it opens for a fireworks time.....

Hi everyone in the new thread!

Hopefully my fears of keeping my room/type at POR AND getting free dining will be put to rest tomorrow. Perhaps the week I'm going won't be a top choice? I guess I'll find out, right?

But I've come to this conclusion. I have to do one of the following if I cannot keep my room type at POR with the FD promotion.

I will either

A) switch to another moderate--and I'm not overly enthused by only having full beds at CBR and I wasn't too keen on CSR with my 4-year-old.

B) upgrade to WL, which we always wanted to stay at, but was out of budget without free dining. The price would be the same as we have now (with no free dining) and we'd be a boat ride away from MK. I think FD for the 3 of us is still higher than a 30% room only discount.

So no matter what, I'll either stay where I am and save $ or upgrade and pay what I always expected to pay.

My epiphany is over now.

Hello!

I have a few reservations to call about tomorrow. I booked and paid for them months ago - deposits on credit cards, but remaining balances all in $50 gc's from target! Can I request they put any credits back on my card vs. the giftcards? I did save them, but obviously it would be easier to put it on my card. If they can't, will they at least tell me what giftcards they are crediting so I don't have to check balances on a gazillion cards? Fingers crossed for everyone out there that we can all get what we want and save a couple bucks!!
